PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
Hi, i have a quick question and wondered whether anyone might have some insight. I'm currently living in Bogotá, Colombia on a researcher's visa that expires on January 23rd, 2007. I know that I have to leave the country prior to the 23rd so as to not overstay my visa, and either return with a new visa or on a tourist visa. I'm a bit homesick and wanted to return home for the holidays and fly back to Colombia around January 10th. However, my visa will not have expired by January 10th and i don't want to have to leave the country a second time prior to the 23rd. I wondered whether the Colombian consulate in the U.S. would grant me another visa prior to my original visa expiring, or whether I could return to Colombia on a tourist visa on or around January 10th even if the visa on my passport doesn't expire until the 23rd. Any thoughts? I'd appreciate any insight.
