My family and I will be traveling to Colombia in June of this year. I will be traveling by Avianca from Los Angeles to Bogota. We are traveling with a toddler so I think Avianca is our best choice because they are the only airline that offers a direct flight from L.A. I was looking at prices on avianca.com for the dates that we plan to travel, each ticket costs $711 (includes taxes and fees). Since I do not travel that often I wanted to find out from others if this is a good deal or if I should wait for Avianca to offer a promotional airfare. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

scumbuster says on Feb 18, 2009, 08:46: Colombiano Divino. Yes this is by far the best I have ever found. I flew last October and had to fly Air Tran to Fort Lauderdale and then the next day take Spirit to Bogota and it was $1100. Luckily my wife has cousins in West Palm Beach so we spent the night there. francis says on Feb 18, 2009, 10:05: Thank you all for your advice. I just went ahead and bought the tickets through Avianca. It appears I am not going to get a better deal on a direct flight. Last year we flew American through a Miami and we had a lot of problems ie. lost baggage, flight delays, etc. So hopefully this year it will go a lot smoother.
