Puerto Wilches

Does anybody know anything about Puerto Wilches? More specifically it's history. I've never been there, only seen it on maps but it has intruiged me as the family name for my Colombian half of the family is Wilches.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Puerto Wilches & Gringo in Bogota As for finding out about historically/navy persons, I suggest you contact the naval/maritime museum in Cartagena as they have or try to have records of everyone enlisted and do contineous research. They are also sponsored by a number of nations to research the history of events and persons - that would be my best guess - and they are very helpful. Good luck and all the best! M

As for mr.Gringo in Bogota : dont you have anything better to do than to slag otter people of..? I have read your heartfelt story about a street kid, seeing the light, becoming a marine, boxer etc. maybe it is time to learn how to behave? M

mr. morten.... not quite sure what "slag otter people of..." means, but i think you confuse light hearted humor with criticism or even attack...issues which really plague this site when the 'tides in'

Puerto Wilches is actually a river port in the Magdalena River, quite close and down river (north) from Barrancabermeja, also in the Departamento de Santander.
