Puerto Berrio

Does anyone have recent experience with Puerto Berrio? Is it safe now for a gringo accompanied with a local? Is the road between Medellin and Puerto Berrio normally safe? What's Puerto Berrio like? Any info would be appreciated.

Not really safe for a Gringo Puerto Berrio is not a pretty town, Medellin is much safer and better than Puerto Berrio, in Puerto Berrio you will not find it very secure for a Gringo even if accompanied by a local.

just my advise with all due respect to everybody.

Puerto Berrio It's a small river town, VERY HOT, humid, not much to do there. It's safe for foreigners in general, don't go far from the town though.

If you're with a local that you trust you'll be fine.
