Providencia vs. Medellin

We are planning to visit Providencia and Medellin the first week of July. We would like to spend 1 or 2 days in Providencia and several days in Medellin. Should we plan a second day in Providencia (is there enough to do there?) or would the second day be better spent in Medellin and the surrounding area?

Thanks.

Spend it in Medellin. Providencia is nice... but as you correctly ask, is there enough to warrant another day? nope!
