Problems with Ray?

I haven't got news from Ray for so many days now, and his cell phone is dead.
Last time I heard from him, he just came back from Venezuela to Cucuta on his bike and heading the next day to Bucaramanga.

robi666 says on May 2, 2008, 11:06:

We all know three things about him:
1) He is not good on the motorbike and he drinks before driving.
2) He is number one in giving "papaya" around.
3) Bucaramanga is not exactly his place, him having dangerous enemies there.

So... we in Medellin are a bit worried... will he be back alive?

gringoloid says on May 2, 2008, 11:22:

alright, I'll give him a call.............i'll try his wife to, if i can find the other number.

Somebody asked about GIB, who is now gone from PBH.

I don't want to go into too many details as I don't have his permission, but GIB was savagely attacked yesterday by some foquen scumbags and is now recovering.

If you want to say something encouraging to him, by all means do, and I'll make him aware of this thread.

GIB was 'scoped' near an ATM yesterday....................I think he is ok physically but his thoughts don't sound too good right now.

Gl.

he's probably going to kill me for posting this problem he had............but when i saw this thread i had to say something.

He's kind of in a vindictive state of mine right now and I feel sorry for these guys if he ever finds them.

i've been working on trying to find another poster here called car1. his account was deleted but he is a very, very nice person when you meet him.

car1 is from Birmingham, England and if anyone else knows him and knows if he is ok, please report.

He would never have left Bogota without telling me and it's as if he disappeared.

gl: "he's probably going to kill me for posting this problem he had".
No creo.

No sé.

Well..............whatever about GIB.............I'm fine...........just arrived back. It was a close thing though............I stumbled onto a nasty Colombian Biker gang. On the road between Cucuta and Bucaramanga. They were stopped at the little village which represents the highest point in Colombia.........

.
They surrounded the bike.......It's a good thing my vicious guard dog kept them off...

.

.
They seemed unsure of what to do with me..........some of them suggested hanging me....they gathered into a huddle to make a decision....

.

.

.

.
They forced me to follow them to Bucaramanga............Once there, they decided to try and poisin me. They forced me to drink some sort of Local Colombian liquid. All in all.....a truly nasty bunch...........I'm lucky to have escaped.

.

.

Thanks for your concern..........now....time for bed............

On another note

This is the second member here in pbh that this has happened to them, I always think FOREIGNERS in Colombia should exercise more caution. I never go to an ATM on my own when I am in Colombia.

I guess us gringos will have to visit the local police supply shop or military surplus store before landing in Bogota. You can get a current US military issue gas mask for a good price. It could be worn while dancing salsa. Very goth chic! The mask could also be worn at ATMs. No scopa will make it through one of those masks. Pair the mask with some simple rubber gloves, and you should be pretty protected. A full chemical suit would be the only way to provide 100% protection, but might look a little out of place in primero de mayo or candalaria.
