She gets rewarded for getting herself kidnapped, to get more publicity and hence get elected. It backfired on her to a point (I imagine she never thought 6 years). Now she's like a saint or something. What about the nonamers kidnapped?

She's on las noticias Caracol now and the story shifted to the FARC. If she can keep focus on the FARC and the secuetrados and remove that focus from her I would have some sliver of respect.

I think she is sightly brain damaged and has no business running a hotdog stand, let alone a place in any government agency where she might need to make a decision. We've already been exposed to her decision making capabilities, or lack thereof.

She makes a good paloma, and that's about it.

hope she use this to help the others that are still held in captivity to keep them in the spotlight, this award should have been for all the ones that are being held captive and those who has been released.

"Afirmó que se atreve a recibir el galardón en "nombre de mis compañeros secuestrados, aquellos que están esperando su turno para la libertad, y con mucho amor, a nombre de mis compañeros que no volverán, aquellos que murieron en la selva,"

That was her point at receiving it.

Found it. Your post is doing well in off-topic section. It's you who is showing bias now. We are four people moderating this forum.

I have no past anti-American history neither here nor anywhere else. Except in the imagination of some disgruntled expats who see offense in everything I do or say. Yes, I joke about gringos, can criticize Bush or neocons, but so DO A LOT OF OTHERS without being blamed for being "anti-American". It's just a personal bias you have against me, you and some others because I represent something that you loath: a gringa. But you let your bias blind you because I'm not anything like your gringa ex-wife, I don't think, act, behave like her either.

If you have a complaint about my moderating please contact Peter.

I`m with Bufalo..and rocinante... you seem to think she is sooo important to Colombia, but the majority doesn`t agree with you.

pappasito i know how many Colombians are feeling and we know is not fair to give an award to just one person when milllions are still held captive and other deserve just as much as her, but with feeling bitter we don't gain anything, better to think in the positive side of this and just HOPE this award encourage her to fight for the released of the rest of the captives that is what we all hoping for.

she said she will support Uribe if he was re-elected, she does want all the other hostages release and we just have to wait and see..

one thing i don't like her mother she is another thing arggggg

El gov. Chileno la ha candidatizado al nobel de la paz:

http://elespectador.com/noticias/paz/articulo-chile-oficializa-postula...

I am happy she`s free but don`t care much about her since she`s not in COL.

If she`s awarded the nobel prize, I hope her mom and sister dont go to Stockholm ... LOL !!!

That would be a slap in the face for FARC !!

Democratic party or Republican party is fine......as long as theres a party!!!!!!!

A NOBEL?!?!?!?!?!?!? What the F$%$^# at !!!!

For someone looking for publicity??? What a joke.

But that's what happens, everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Noone in the mainstream would say anything against her because she was kidnapped - quite pathetic.

Makes me think of that Psycho "mother Theresa" making all those sick people continue suffering instead of sending them for medical treatment. Noone would say didly against her either
