Prettiest view in Colombia

This is a slight variation of the UTOPIA thread, although it´s more about the scenery-view-landscape than an idyllic place to live, although I imagine it COULD be the same thing.

My nomination, looking out to the west over the cordilleras to valle from La Guaca restaurant in Sevilla, which is about 15-20 minutes away from Caicedonia.

I could easily imagine buying a little finca or hacienda there to have as a vacation spot or investment...but not to live or retire there full-time, I would be bored.

Others under consideration (from my 7 months here)

Salento-Cocora Valley

Los Nevados

Horseback riding near Tebaida (south of Armenia) and the Rio Vieja canyon

View from Parque del Cafe to the north (towards Armenia)

View in Mango Biche (oops, that would be a different category)

View from the top of the hills (I remember a statue and lots of vendedores) in Cali, looking down on the city

La Popa in Cartagena...I compare this view to that of the Washington DC monuments and city from Arlington National Cemetery

Don´t go to San Felipe Castle in CTG if you are choosing between that and La Popa...but try to pre-arrange for a taxi to come back and get you, you will be assailed by the vendors

Las Islas del Rosario or San Andres

Looking out towards Bocagrande at night from Barrio Manga

The park in the center of Medellin that´s like a raised hill where you can look to the east and see most of the city and the hills to the east

Another park in Manizales that you have to climb to the top of the most famous statue in town...beautiful view when there´s not much fog or cloudy, which is rare

I was going to say, the view from Sevilla to the west reminds me a little of western South Dakota, kind of a cross between the Badlands and the Grand Canyon, although less rocky and much more green...and there are quite a few browns as well

Certain areas are in sunlight...where others are getting rained on, you can see for miles and miles

cerro nutibarra The little mountain in the center of medellin you refer to is cerro nutibarra, it is also where pueblito paisa is, a model of an antioquian town.

C'mon, give those hills near el poblado in the oriental side(the east) more credit, those are some towering mountains that almost go up into the clouds.

My nomination is for my sister-in-law's legs while she's driving and I'm sitting in the front seat as her short skirt keeps riding up her legs going higher and higher. Definitely no familial thoughts going on there. Undoubtedly the prettiest view in Colombia.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

Coconucos, Cauca Going to the thermals from the village there's a shortcut over the mountainside. Coming from Coconucos, on the right-hand side of the path there's a big rock. You climb the rock and look towards the mountains of the central range, over the river valley and I haven't ever seen a lovelier sight.

Cheers,
Desi
