President Gore

I hate to say it but i told you so. When the topics were posted about Gore snubbing Uribe of Colombia and Gore running around the country giving speeches on global warming and when Gore the film maker and Gore the Mr Hollywood favorite. I stated that Gore was doing this for himself, i stated that it was all political, you can see right through this guy he is thin and clear like plastic, if you look you can see what he is really doing.
Well today it happened the word out of the Gore group is that he is once again considering running for President . Gee, im so surprised..ha! Its all about Gore its not global warming or Uribe it all about Gore and the Presidency.

What makes you so certain it is BS? You make it sound as if Al Gore invented climate change... Its been on the horizon for *decades*. What do you say to the people living in places like the Maldives? Do you think that countries like the Netherlands are abandoning land for the financial gain?

Do you think CFCs are BS too? What about overfishing, or can things really not be brought to the brink of extinction (maybe Dodos were made up).

Imho might be an idea to sign up for some 400-level atmospheric chem classes at your local uni. You'll hear arguments from both sides (which have been around since before Mr. Gore began his film carreer) and you can make your own mind up as to which is more sound, and if it might make sense to insure against one or the other.

It's like`saying I've never had a car accident, car accidents are BS, why buy insurance it'll never benefit me.

Its all about gore and politics Gore, all this is about GORE, the global warming speeches its about gore, the big house of his burning fuel its about gore, the private jets its about gore, the film documentary its about gore, snubbing Uribe Prez of Colombia its about gore, as esanch36 has stated the carbon off sets its all about gore. this guy will do anything to be president including all of the above.

he is running for president all the rest of this stuff is nothing to him. Look at this guy he burns more fuel than anyone and when people confronted him about it he said "well i buy carbon off sets". then with a little investigation we find out,yea he buys carbon off sets alright FROM HIMSELF! it turns out he owns the company that he buys the off sets from so he is basically flying around spewing out polution, then pays himself because he was a bad boy and poluted the air. he is getting richer from people paying him for carbon off sets, poluting the air, scolding us on how we should be saving the planet and how we should limit our life styles, and at the same time he is running for president on the platform of cleaning up the planet. WHAT A PHONEY BALONEY.

Mario That hasn't stopped Clinton and many other active or former world leaders who have been visiting Colombia recently, or just attending the same events as Uribe.

I don't think any of that automatically classifies as an "alignment", but maybe it's just me.

Still, I do agree with you about that last part: global warming and the environment are issues that, if they are taken seriously, go beyond politics and personal preferences, given that they can affect anyone regardless of their qualities. Nature doesn't ask questions, it just acts.

instead of insulting the Colombians he should be insulting Chavez the real SA problem.

Some here would like to make this out to be bigger then it is in reality, but it is not to be ,,,The Miami Colombians I know who were aware of it did not feel insulted in the least,,,Also Not even a mention of it in the Miami Herald or Nuevo Herald,,,This newsblip isn't getting legs and walking politically ,,,LOL Give it a rest,,,

What is getting Legs and walking is that news about the Connections to those death Squads the Uribe family may have had on the Family Farm! That has been brought up many times the truth be told,,,

miamimike Generalities and assumptions about the subject, yes.

Yet more specific allegations about it have been lacking until recently.

Now that the issues are somewhat more detailed, it's possible to discuss the matter more directly, but I believe we still need more and better proof. Too much of it still is circumstantial and unconfirmed.

You can have mountains of circumstantial evidence, but they are dangerously fragile if you don't have something concrete that allows you to convincingly close the case, both literally and figuratively.

Not just simple "Mr. P said that Mr. X claimed that Mr. U did this and that", because then it becomes a matter of establishing who has more credibility and nothing else (in this case, Mr. X vs. Mr. U, though Mr. P vs. Mr. U might have more public repercussions). Given that there are already a few holes in the newest batch of claims, it simply isn't enough.

that explains it well mario that explains it CNN (communist news network) is not going to say anything negative about gore or hilery or kennedy or soros or Alex baldwin or any libs. skip around the channels you'll hear it, you'll see it, its there. BBC, ha! you mean there are people that actually watch that station?
I am amazed how many people simply do not know whats going on in the world, its as if CNN and BBC and a few others just dont mention it. they lie sometimes but mostly they just dont mention it therefore the people never hear about it. then when someone like me mentions it people are shocked , some people say to me " where did you hear that, i didnt hear anything about that, where do you get this imformation Scotty"?

mario, you did hear about Alex Baldwins rant and verbal attack against his 11 year old daughter right? I wonder because i know that the left wing media likes baldwin and several of the stations wouldnt report it and would not play the horrible message he left for his daughter.
Mario, did you know that Alex baldwins ex wife and daughter are so frightened of him that they have hired body guards 24/7 to protect them from this nut liberal? did the BBC or CNN tell you about that?
Mario, you did hear about the al queda who had a little 11 year old boy cut the head off of an american in afganistan and filmed it? did you see it on CNN or BBC?
theres alot of things going on out there Mario you may want to do a little channel surfing so that you can get the WHOLE story.
I recommend the following to get the whole story:
Bill O'Reily show - Fox news channel
Hannity & Colmbes - Fox new channel
Glenn Beck show - Headline news channel

MM yea the libs do want this to go away, they always want the things that libs say and do to go away, they want it brushed under the rug, stop showing that, stop playing that, forget it, its no big deal, lets move on to more important things like slamming Bush or slamming America. Why are we wasting all this time on Alex Baldwin and Gore and Rosie O'Donnel and Chavez and Iran when we all know what the real problem is, its Bush, America, Christains, Rush Limbaugh, could we just get back to the real problems oh yea and global warming.

speaking of nutty libs, they seem to be everywhere lately. did you hear what Cheryl Crow singer and big time liberal said yasterday. get this...she said the way to help save the enviroment is for everyone to use only one square of tolit paper per sitting...ha! can you imagine that, can you picture that?
like i have always said you dont have to attack or put down libs all you have to do is sit back and let them talk, its like watching an old three stooges comedy.

ha ha ha to you rubito would you like some facts rubito. did you know that FOX news channel is the most watched news channel in America. did you know that all those other channels combined must fight over 60% of the publics attention, that is because FOX has the attention of 40% of Americans.
so 6 or 7 or 8 major news outlets are scrambling and fighting for 60% share of the market some barely staying afloat, some of these stations like ABC, NBC, PBS, CBS, CNN have been around forever and yet the new kid on the block the baby station FOX is kicking their ass in all the catagory ratings. FOX is relaxed and calm sits back and enjoys a 40% lead. how do you explain that rubito? why is it most people watch FOX? why are they kicking everyone elses ass? why do you think that is? Why is it that libs like kennedy, hillery, obama yo mama and other libs wont go on FOX, its because they cant handle a real interview, they cant answer hard questions thats why. Instead they go on CNN to talk with Larry King and answer his softball questions. Its also because what i mentioned in the post to MM, the other stations dont always tell the whole story, also the other stations dont often give both sides to a story, so when you watch CNN or NBC or BBC or whatever you are getting what they want you to see and hear, they often just dont mention the other side of the argument or the event. I surf alot which means i do on occasion flip on CNN, NBC, and a few others but i am shocked when i go to FOX and hear the whole story and i then realize the same story i just saw on CNN didnt mention some of the facts that i feel were important and i hear on FOX. I wonder why did they leave that out? then i realize its because they are left wing and the news they left out would have benifited the right wing or would have hurt the left in some way.
this happens all the time i see it happen almost daily, thats why i may watch a little bit of CNN or MSNBC but i will get most of my info from FOX.

Gore: Who cares what he does and thinks. I don't. He is a has been. Our family used to be Democrats and we no longer are and that is precisely because they make decisions based on impulse and what they perceive as creating propaganda for themselves. It is interesting that Bill Clinton did meet with Uribe in Cartagena last month and the likes of NBC, CBS and ABC did not say anything about it.

A person almost has to include news from Outside the USA otherwise he/she will not get a complete unbiased complete news story. I look at our Miami News and if one listened to only the Nuevo Herald(miami herald) you get only the Far Right Wing View of what is happening in Cuba; that usually is far from reality. Case in Point, they had Castro DEAD 6 months ago with Cancer, in reality that was not the truth. Looks he he is recovering, gaining weight and getting ready to come back to power(be that good or bad) soon, the fact was Miami Biased News mislead the public! Same in Iraq, how can you get the complete story from US News Sources? I listen to BBC,ect for a complete newscast fromm various sources and then make up my mind,,,

I *Love* the BBC, sometimes I can catch bits of it here, but otherwise their website is one of my regular stops. CNNwise I was really disgusted by how singular they can be - ie what they did to Howard Dean in the last campaign. They took something perfectly acceptable in the context of the moment and turned it into something else.

Rubz is absolutely correct about reading & watching news from other parts of the world, even just the English-speaking countries, it really helps round out POVs & give broader context. There is no excuse nowadays either since many major newscasts are available online.

Newspaperwise tho, I find that the NYT is pretty good, that and the Globe & Mail (Cdn). I try to read them online at least a few times a week.. the juiciest parts are some of the razor sharp editorials in the NYT.. The regulars are *so* good.
