Yes, I would agree with Vicshere. My cousin tends to requests jackets,sunglasses, and apparel. Plus my cousin is a guy so I am sure that with that information you have a lot of options to choose from. Like for instance with my cousin, he's a hat freak, so we tend to send him hats of all colors etc. A couple of months ago I got a customized hat made for him that said his name and added his favorite soccer team color.

They have 2 boys, which is perfect as he's their buddy. This is getting to be more and more common with my successful female friends. Sometimes the spouse also has a home business (one friend's husband makes model ships for museums).

For the friends without kids the husband always works or goes to school or something. But there's no pressure for him to get a high-paying job.

Well Mona, I wouldn't have any kids to begin with (and now it's too late anyway!). But yes, I would have no problems with letting hubby stay at home. I love to work. I'm crazy in that respect. But my belief has always been that at least someone should be at home with the kids. Didn't matter if it's Mom or Dad. That belief stems from fond memories of coming home from school and Mom being home.

Yeah, your husband being away could be a problem but as long as your mom can help out, then it's manageable. I have a number of friends who adopted kids from Russia as a single mother because they gave up on finding the right guy (they adopted in their 40's). They'll tell you it's difficult to do it on your own, but it can be done with the help of friends and family members. Your support network will be of utmost importance when your hubby is gone. I assume he loves kids as much as you?

You're young enough that you should have your own. My friends who adopted children from Russia have behavioral issues with their kids. One had to teach her child how to chew (he never had solid food before and he was 3 or 4). They're not used to being touched, loved, etc. It's very difficult and one child is a handful.

And yes, we do have a tendency of hijacking posts. I notice that no guy has even stumbled into this post for hours. Too bad b/c I would've like to have read their thoughts of whether or not they're emasculated if the woman is the breadwinner!

hahaha Mona, how funny, I met my bf when I was 17 too. In regards to pregnancy, well...I know this is going to sound stupid but I couldnt bear the thought of a sickly baby, be it premature or with some learning disability or congenital disease...I dont have a history of any of that in my family but whenever I see a child with Down syndrome or cerebral palsy it just freaks me out and makes me soooo sad. I know there are tests for it but once youre pregnant well, you feel like a mommy... so its hard nonetheless. You know what I mean?
