That was probably the issue most weighing on our decision to live half and half in Colombia and the USA. Two years ago when we were making that decision a lifesaving drug taken by my wife was unavailable in Colombia. Today it is available as well as most new drugs. The free trade agreement would enhance our opportunities for acquiring these important drugs.

It's been around long enough you probably can, but go to a pharmacy and ask. Mr. Hollywood says on Nov 30, 2007, 07:38: You can buy most antidepressants over the counter at the pharmacy in Carulla. The important thing is to do your research and bring the pharmacy both your pill bottlle, the chemical name of the drug, and, if possible, the spanish trademark name of the drug (which sometimes varies by country).

miamimike says on Nov 30, 2007, 17:59: Eng65: FYI--this drug is marketed under two names, Venlafaxine(eng) which is the Generic or Chemical name and Effexor and Effexor XR, which are the trade names in the USA. Not too confusing with this drug, but with others, you may see Multiple Trade names or more. One Common denominator worldwide is that ALL drugs have the same Chemical name whereas, depending on the country, you may see the drug marketed under a different brand name(s). "Wait a minute.
