well, every mobile phone service provider locks their mobile phones to work with their simcard only.........that lock is made a special software......but also it can be broken with any hacking software for treo models, its not an illegal thing to do it........just take it to any reliable mobile phone tuning shop.......if you are in bogota u can take it to "san andresito de la 38", and once your phone is unlcked then you will be able to use any simcard, if you buy a prepaid one then they will just charge for the mins u use

Unlocked ones can be found en masse on eBay not to mention that most U.S. carriers will unlock a phone if you travel. I'm merely interested in the data cost (eg. I want to use the MSN chat feature while traveling)
