Poor but happy in Bogota

I just arrived in Bogota and I am here until Friday. Can anyone from Bogota give me some suggestions about what to do here until Friday. I would love to get out and have a look around but the weather is really shitty. ALso I am interested to go and see a bull fight but I think I just missed the last fight. I´ll be travelling to Cartagena, Cali and Medellin - are there any fights there I can catch

How Poor I recommend you go to Boyaca and check out Villa de leyva which is a colonial city. You may also wish to check out the hotsprings in Piepa (more romantic so go with a lover if you have one). You should rent a car, but you can easily go to a big hotel, and hire a car and driver to take you there. If you want to stay closer to bogota, go to Guatavita (about 1 hour trip). If you stay in Bogota, i guess you can check out the gold museum, and the shopping in Hacienda Santa Barbara, and Centro Comercial Andino Above the Santa Barbara mall, check out the little colonial city called Usaquen. Go to the coffee shop Tiende del Cafe after you walk around. In the Andino Mall there is a great coffee shop outsidie one of the entrances (i think it is called il pomerillo). Also while you are in the Andino area, go to the Zona "T". You can eat dinner at Harry Sason near there. Thurdsay night go to San Angel for dinner and dancing. Parque 93 always has something to do (that is where San angel is anyway). You can get a haircut, massage and manicure at Machos (near Andino mall)(if your really poor dont worry, it will be a fraction of the cost as in the US). There is a lot to do since they are used to the rain.

Gato Negro (for Camilo) Hi - Just out of curiosity, is this bar/restaurant still in business? I went there in August 2002 and it also seemed to have a fair amount of foreigners.

Movies at Andino, Atlantis etc There are some good movies being played now at the theatres of the big malls (Andino, Atlantis, Unicentro, Santa Barbara all have one, usually on the third floor). If you are a "cinephile" , the seats are great, so the screenings and it costs a third of the price in USA.
If you like cinema d'essai try Cinemania, near parque 93. They are also showing a new documentary on Escobar, made after gaining access to his personal archives. Movies and the rain, how great!
