Police Certificate for K-1 Appointment at Embassy

I read that in Colombia an applicant can not receive their own police certificate, that the embassy needs to request it. Now I am reading on the Embassy website that the applicant (my fiance) needs to get the police certificate. Can any verify that? The interview is 2/14/2006.

You order it and pick it up... Hi mireland511,

My fiancée picked up her police certificate on here own in Armenia where she was born and has lived all her life. She had to pay I believe 28,000 COP and take two passport photo. I believe this is correct I will ask her tonight.

Bring her own anyway She should bring her own copy. Her copy will most likely be accepted, plus you will have it just in case. This is a letter from her local police department stating that she has a clean record (or not).

In 2004, when I needed one, I just went to the local police station in California, told them what I needed, showed my driver's license that proved I lived in that city, paid $20, and waited for 15 minutes. That copy was accepted by DAS in Colombia.

If you are young, skilled, and intelligent, you might want to seriously consider leaving the US now, while you still can.

The Embassy Is... is NOT involved-it's up to the applicant but no real pain or problem to get.

The applicant has to go get it from the local DAS office.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

Hi Mireland511,

I got you more accurate information than I had given you before, but you do not need it. I am happy you already got it.

Good luck,

Peter Miami
