No, but I highly recommend Dr. Boris Henriquez I had liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, and lower back and had the fat transferred to my butt/hips. I had my surgery done in Barranquilla, Colombia because it is much more inexpensive and I have family there. I also figured that type of surgery (butt augmentation via fat transfer) is much more common in South America and I trusted having it done there than by a doctor here in the U.S. After months and months of research, I decided to go with Dr. Boris Henriquez. I cannot even begin to express to you what a wonderful experience I had with him. For the six weeks before my trip, he and I communicated via e-mail almost everyday. I would write to him about every single question or doubt that popped into my head and he would respond with tons of information. When I finally did get to meet him in person on the day I arrived, I felt so comfortable with him. He is young and very handsome, very well spoken and professional. My surgery was the following day and everything went well. He uses the tumescent technique for liposuction with regional anesthesia and sedation, so that same day I was up and walking around the house. He also uses open drainage, so I recovered without any bruises. My cousin was astonished at the results after using open drainage. She said when she had her liposuction, her doctor didn’t use open drainage and she had huge bruises and so much swelling that took weeks to go away because all of the fluid that stayed trapped under her skin.
It was two weeks yesterday since my surgery and I have been back to work for 4 days now. I was only In Colombia for a total of 10 days. The day I arrived, I went to his office and had blood work done. The following morning I had my surgery. The day after the surgery, he came to the house to check how I was doing. His attention and service is by far the best I have ever encountered from a doctor, even compared to the ones here in the U.S. (and that’s saying a lot because I work for a pharmaceutical company and deal with doctors all day). After that second day I felt well enough to start going out. At first, I started by making short trips to the supermarket, to get lunch, etc., but by day 5, I felt well enough to get the most out of my trip and I went to Cartagena for two days. My mother was amazed at how quick my recovery was. I was walking all around like a tourist. No one would ever suspect I had just had surgery.
I am extremely happy with my results and want to recommend Dr. Boris Henriquez to anyone looking to have cosmetic surgery in Colombia. Please post any questions. I would be happy to answer them all and provide any information.

Response to Big A Big A,

This is by no means an advertisement for Dr. Henriquez. I am a 25 year old living in NY. It is an account of my personal experience. Had I posted something negative, I'm sure you would not be skeptical. I thought I would post something positive on the websites where I searched for information before my trip for people who are currently researching.

As for open drainage, many doctors use it including many here in the U.S. I will not say that what you claim is incorrect, but I know that I actually underwent the procedure with open drainage and I would have it no other way. It was only because of the open drainage that I had minimal bruising and swelling and such a speedy recovery.

I would be more than happy to answer any questions for people currently researching doctors in Colombia.

Sorry, don't know if you speak spanish... my mom had surgery with him and she loves him, i really liked the results. As for Dario Cabello, he's famous in Barranquilla and even in Colombia, i got a minor surgery with him when i was like 2 years old, he's an aged man with a lot of experience and i think he's good, he's even got a clinic in one of the best medical centers in town. Both of them are fine, they're not some unknown doctors or anything, so feel confident about them. LASIK Im colombian, and my husband is american...We came one month ago to Barranquilla and he got LASIK in his eyes...It was no more than US$1000 with tests, medicines, EVERYTHING
He got his surgery on friday and we flew back to america on sunday..

Birdie I have a couple of questions for you.

Are you still pleased with your results? I have heard that one main disadvantage of the fat transfer butt lift is that some of the fat is absorbed, and you may be left with a smaller apperance (after the surgery)

How much was your surgery? I know costs will vary; but, I was looking for a ball park figure.

Do you know if they have lodging or 'out of towners' facilities? I read in your post that you have family there; unfortunately, I don't have relatives in Colombia.

I would love to talk to you about your results. If you deem this acceptable let me know, and I will give you my number.

One of my friends just told me about Henriquez. No idea she had fake ones. NEVER imagine. But they look so natural, she had them done a long time ago, like 10 years ago. She is happy with them even after 3 kids. Also she had done the abdominoplastia and she says that you can hardly tell because the belly buttom is perfect. So, I will have it done with him, next year.

Sure, Orbi, Cartagena is the place to go...to party, not to have an operation. Have the operation done in Barranquilla and if you feel like it go to Cartagena, the door to door services charge like 25 dollars to take you there... I stayed at Versalles.. nice, like a bed and breakfast.

I had LASIK done in Arizona and it cost 3,500, if you go to a good doctor that is what it cost, if you go to one of the doctors that have this websites that promote and advertise so much that you doubt why they need to pay so much in publicity, then 1,000 is right but I read about them and they are not reliable. t least in Arizona maybe Lousiana is much more cheaper...don't know. We really researched on that, we even set a table with all the machines. Believe it or not research more in the machines than in the doctors, since the machines do almost all the work for them. By the way my doctor had his eyes operated in Colombia. Funny humm! and I payed 2,500 more
