Plantiona Houae in Salento

The other day someone in here mention staying at he Plantation House when visiting the coffee area in Quindio. I saw this link and thought you all might be interested. If nothing else, the Valle de Cocora is worth the visist. Plenty to do and good resturants to eat at. Here's the link. http://www.theplantationhousesalento.com/

Tim and his wife run a very basic hostel operation that is extremely welcoming. Tim is a very gregarious guy and is loaded with info on the surrounding area. It's a very pleasant stay for anyone who doesn't require luxuries. Salento can be a rockin' little town on the weekends too. Big thumbs up from me for the Plantation House.

Cheers,
Terry

By the way, Tim is one of the absolutely best integrated gringos I've ever met in Colombia. He really knows the score and has carved an incredible niche for himself in his chosen town.

I think this is where I bought one of my pretty artworks in Feb. It is right off the main drag up the hill in Salento for the panoramic view? If so very hospitable staff there. The one Colombian guy even offered me to sit down with him then explained aout the coffee beans!

Salento is nice. While on an extended stay there I only heard good things about that hostel... that's from the locals I mean. The town can be a bit overrated, depending on who's talking and why, and has gone a bit more commercial over the years, hopefully that'll stop.

Tim may be a terrific guy but those two incestuous and disobedient Doberman Pinschers he tries to pass off as warm and cuddly Collies should be avoided at all costs!
