Piedad Cordova was on the verge of being attacked on flight to Caracas

They just have to make sure it was counterweighed on the other side of the aisle. Yup, good thing for her that they didn't have a dresscode on that flight.

Forget her taste in clothes. Many Colombians hate her for having her head so far up chavez' ass . I am not sure what the definition of treason is in Colombia, but she certainly has provided aid and comfort to Colombia's enemies.

As much as I despise Cordoba I don't condone violence. It's dangerous to not guard against justifiable indignation turning into hatred because then you become like the people you're against: violent and hateful.

I repudiate farc and their allies with all my heart, but I will not hate them because I don't ever wish to be like them.

I second your words, catherine. I'm going to skip over the usual bashing, just to comment that this is the kind of stupid behavior that has got us in our situation. Don't agree with someone? Threaten her, punch her, or better yet, kill her. I guess rationality is out of fashion... but when was it fashionable in the first place? Nevermind.

I'd be tempted to do the same.

Threats are not included in that, just telling people what you think of them. Anything beyond that turns into the mob mentality which can get ugly.

Stupid and dangerous behavior indeed, whether the target is Piedad Córdoba or, who knows, even someone who is pro-Uribe (or the man himself).

There are reasons to complain against and reasons to criticize all those people, in the proper environment, but they should also be at least minimally respected the rest of the time.

Really? And what are Senator Cordoba's duties as a Colombian citizen and elected representative of Colombian people and Colombian interests?

What's truly scandalous are individuals who still try to portray farc as "noble" "freedom fighters" and ejercito del pueblo when we all know what monsters they truly are.

Here's another example of how "el ejercito del pueblo" takes care of el pueblo.

http://www.eltiempo.com/conflicto/noticias/ARTICULO-WEB-NOTA_INTERIOR-...

robi, bear in mind that Piedad has done nothing more than accuse the Colombian government of just about every conceivable crime including trying to get her killed. What was her response to this incident? That it was the government's doing. That the government is "inciting" violence towards her. The last time Uribe mentioned her to the Colombian people was to thank her publicly for her role in facilitating the liberation of Clara Rojas and Consuelo Gonzalez.

Cordoba wants to shift the blame yet AGAIN on Uribe's government and not recognizing that it is her behaviour that is the cause of this animosity from so many Colombians.

The minister was basically telling her "Hey don't blame us for your unpopularity."
