PHB Colombia Guide forum = freedom of speech and different opinions without being disrespectful to others!!!!!!

There are some trolls in this forum but this one is just taking the piss!! Morgus I’m talking about you, please tell us why it is that you feel the need to write such crap?? I know that I’m no one to talk and that I too have written stupid things but is only to make people laugh a little and to make the forum not only an informative source but somewhere where we can have fun remembering our country too isn’t that what the forum is about? Colombia and people with some sort of attachment to it?

I too have written bad stuff about Colombia especially Cali where I grew up but I have written this because I grew up there and feel the need to tell others that is not just the feria, cabalgata and beatifull women with plastic surgery enhanced bodies! There are also people there with big hearts and great values too people who work hard to provide for their own and who haven’t had the opportunities that some Colombians like most of us in this forum have and that is why I have written what I’ve written because I like to tell my side of the story and I do not like to white wash things so that other people can change their opinions on Colombia no that’s not the case!. I agree that everybody are entitled to their own opinions and I believe that’s what this forum is all about, freedom of speech to express yourself but this trolls like Morgus are just taking the mick with your threads and the lack of respect for others! You are entitled to your opinions even if people don’t agree with them but being honest and truthful is one thing but being disrespectful is quite another!!!

Ahhh ... you're talking about hi-jacking of thread's ....
Well there's of course "ignore mode" but would be nice when some new topic is introduced in an existing thread would be channeled to a fresh thread of it's own.

But it's a walk on the edge of a nife because some people could try and bring another point of view to your notice ;-)

mrs. gomez... i am in total accord with what you have written. for my self personally, i feel that ANYONE who personally attacks another on this site should be banned. i have tired of the banal language used when addressing others.

anybody is welcome to their opinion and are free to express their opinions and observations. however, this liberty does not include any priviledge to insult, belittle, deride or offend any of the posters here. it brings us all down and takes the fun out of reading, posting, and learning here.

some of the language used to address folks here is completely shameful and the users should really look at what they say to others.

i'm by no stretch a 'prude' who doesn't use expletives...hardly, but never and i mean NEVER to address another person. too, i fail totally to see/find the gain such speakers gleen by such conduct.

i have no desire to point fingers at anyone. i only hope we can lift up our heads and hearts and respect what GOD has created, HIS creature. we're all adrift on this 'ship' together...anomosity between us makes the cruise so difficult. wouldn't we all gain by useing our efforts to always seek harmony? the world is in such dire need of peace and love. and it depends on all of us to achieve this goal.

"for those of you who are for peace, peace be with you. for those of you who are for war, unfortunately, i have been so too. may we all be well and fare well" (e. philelethes)

peace,

dwmte

respect and good manners I have always wondered why these basic virtues go down the drain for certain people once they get online.

I am sorry I wasn't available much today, but I finally found the issue you are talking about, Mrs. Gomez. Too bad I wasn't there when it happened. Sadly, it happens too often in general.

Peter the site owner has no use of them either, but he shows patience and restraint before tossing them, hoping the others will be able to silence them. But as the site grows and more members join everyday, more of these immature imbeciles join as well. Therefore Peter has started to appoint moderators to help clean up the posts and maintain peace. I have a feeling that some improvement can be seen already. But certain basic rules here need to be enforced immediately, such as personal attacks. The moderators now have the tools to enforce the rules when needed. We are just not around all the time ...
