PBH / colombia (travelguide, pictures) / post |
Let me start by saying that I think most people are happy with the new format. Sure there are always those that initially resist change, but then, after giving it a few tries, and applying a modicum amount of objectivity, they give it a "second look" and then realize that sometimes change is better. I have been around here for quite a while, and in all honesty, I cannot remember Peter making changes that did not work out for the better, even if there were some bumps along the way of implementing those changes. Sooooooooo
Now for the "But"
On most forums, as it was with previous versions of your own, when a post was made, that thread was bumped to the top. I prefer that format. It prevents you from having to search for a thread that you have been actively participating in. I realize that those you participate in are noted in bold, and it shows new posts since you (a person) was last active in, but to me, it's still a bit annoying having to search for the thread. I recognize the value in keeping it this way however. It causes diversity in peoples participation. It causes people to have to look at threads that they may not be interested in, instead of just those that are at the top.
I am curious Peter, what is the standard that determines, the order of the threads?
Well, if anyone else has any thoughts on this, please post.

Man Tequila says on Jul 8, 2007, 20:12: The "active thread" choice is a nice touch. And if you use the Friendly Talkzone you can stop the resurrection of zombie threads of yesteryear, too.
