Peter is Helping Us, So Let's Help Peter

Ok, I will make this short. And for me that's hard to do. But I don't want the point to get lost.

We are all here because of Peter's time, effort, dedication and intense desire to keep the Colombian community and non Colombian community informed about "Our Colombia."

We all have learned here
We all have debated here
We all have grown wiser here
Let's face it, we like spending our time here.

We have seen the glitches lately and Peter is trying the best he can to keep PBH up and running smoothly. He has not made contributions mandatory....and that is kind hearted of him to do so. But, now I will ask and I hope others will sign on, for everyone who has a Paypal account to just give...whatever you feel you can afford is what you should give. Skip the next night out and put the funds here! You will be happy you did.

Think about it !! Ok, I was longer than I had planned. But this is one message that is worth my time and your immediate attention.

Thanks......Gomezman5

It's a New Year and...Gary Once people get to "know" me, they will see that I'm OK...I know I can be a little controversial. But, if you think about it, all our hearts are in the right place. We all just have a different way of getting there........

Thanks for you support and understanding Gary...and my best to you.

Yes Gomezman
Absolutelly agree with you: the best we can do for keeping this forum is helping out Peter's effort.

I am only expecting my next pay to contribute some money for him(end of January). And I'll do it every time I could. I hope all of you could cooperate too.

Màs fe, màs abrazos, màs besos, màs disculpas, màs visitas a nuestros amigos antiguos nos haràn màs plenos cada vez.

JamesVH -- Paypal information Hi JamesVH.

I'm up early so I'll fill you in on Paypal

Paypal (www.paypal.com) is a company that enables you to recieve or send money to other Paypal members. The money is sent or recieved mainly in 2 ways. 1. By authorizing Paypal to debit or credit an account you have at a bank or 2. By allowing Paypal to debit or credit a credit card account you have allowed them to have access to.

It allows you to send money immediately. In this case, since Peter, has opened a Paypal account, anyone else with a Paypal account may make an immediate contribution to him. It only takes a few minutes to conduct transactions.

Paypal is now owned by Ebay. I should note, I do not know of the availability of Paypal to non North American residents

Thanks for inquiring....but check out their web site.

James.... If you look to the color portion of the screen to the left, you will see a button that says "Make a donation." However, you can only do so after you sign up to be a member of Paypal.

Too bad... Paypal doesn't support accounts/money from Colombia...and they've been very slow in adding support for the other Latin American countries, only adding it at a snail's pace apparently (see their website for the details). So that means I can't do anything to help through this method.

gomezman5 I just received a private message from Gary H. Sounds like you guys made up and that is good. I am the new guy here but you and Desi are aomng the few that seem to care about the things that go on in this site with Peter at the wheel. For me I needed information, read the replies, enjoyed the different opinions and watched as those opinions worked out like people got what they wanted. A good old fashioned conversation the ended up helping others and gathering information that brings forth knowledge which brings forth friendships. We don't all agree but when someone comes to this site and his IQ has not progressed beyond the use of four letter words, makes one feel like they are on a porn site. I think I will hang around a bit longer and see what happens but I hope that the higher ups find a way to remove those people that down others, use bad laungage, no foul language, and have nothing constructive to say to anyone. This is not the place for that. Maybe Peter will read this and do something to remove the bad apple and he will get the support of this man with no problem. I hope all is well and happy you and Gary made up. I know who this man is and he is as sharp as a tack. He feel a lot like we do here. Help remove the trash and this site will be supported well.

Sorry Sonny...----Gary and Desi Thanks for the thoughtful thread you posted. I have to say I'm kind of new here myself. I, like everyone around here have an opinion on everything. At the same time, my opinion may not be one that is necessarily a popular one. But I will add, I am a good reader. That being said, even if I don't agree with someone or many, I believe that their opinion is every bit as important as mine is. In this way, the other readers can decide how much weight should be given.

As to Gary, I never had a problem with him, and I never meant our debate to be personal....God no. In fact, I have debated with so many around here; I don't even remember which debate/argument I was involved in with him. Honestly, it’s not important. At the end of each discussion a new day begins. I'm glad at least he sees me in a different light since I started this discussion....although it hasn't generated much steam---unfortunately. I am certain in the future, that Gary and I will be in agreement on things too. I think you guys just need to "get to know" me so to speak, and you will see my heart is in the right place. Look, we need disagreement with the confines of meaningful debate. If we all agreed, then this forum would lose its significance. It is for that reason that I worked fairly diligently to bring Gringoinbogota back. His opinion is important too.

Now as to the quality of people here, the foul language, especially when it is directed at someone specifically is tasteless. But in a forum of this size, and at the rate it is growing, it is inevitable that there are going to be people that act in poor taste. But you know, just as if we were in a bar or a public place, all kind are going to come here and I'm really not a fan of removing people from the board. To me, it's a form of censorship, and censorship tends to spiral out of control. Also, ultimately, there is only one sensor around here and that is Peter. I think you will agree that on the whole, most people here debate and present their argument intelligently and in good taste. Some people do it in ways that are, shall we say, unconventional. But it does not make their opinions any less valid, maybe just a bit more colorful

Finally, I too am an admirer of Desi's insight and diplomacy. In fact she dropped in one discussion one day when I and another were at odds, and she brought peace. In fact....maybe it was with Gary ??? Could it have been???? Anyway, I asked her if I should take the high road and leave. I trusted her judgment because I had appreciated her contributions, as well as her desire to referee a conflict.

Anyway....back to the point...thanks for your posting and if you can help Peter, that would be great.
