Pesos in Miami

1. Avoid the Mafia-like operations at the Miami Airport at all
costs.
2. Try Abbot Money Exchange,230 NE 1ST St, in downtown Miami, been
around for years and usually have the best rate.
3. Why not wait until you reach Colombia, ElDorado in Bogotá I presume, and use an ATM? Rate will beat anything you find in Miami hands down.

Arriving in BOG I've always arrived late at night and had no problem with the exchange bank right near the exit of the airport. They charge about 5% more than the ATM (e.g. 2200COP/$$ vs 2300COP/$$ at the ATM) but they are convenient and have been open late (10 or 11pm) to change money.

To get to the ATM you have to leave the depature area and go to the arrivals area. Not far, but it can be confusing your first time in the dark with all the people waiting outside.
