PESO-USD

is it true, the rumor is that the dollar will continue to decline and by the end of 2008 this is how it will look, 1 USD = 1400 PESO?

i did not think it would dip back below 1850. wrong.............

- usa printing more funny money, lowering interest rates, wall street rollercoaster, failed security sales to clear bank lines, property values dropping like a led zepellin in the majority of markets due to record foreclosures.

it would not suprise me.

our system is setup to reward the influencers of the policymakers. these are the same damn people that duped greedy homebuyers into overleveraging and speculating the market to the point of ridiculous, unsustainable levels. the smart ones cashed out months ago and they are now looking for the next scam. it is no better than a pyramid scheme........

juice anybody?

That blows chunks because every time I wire money I have to make up for what I lost since the value keeps going down. Augh!

"Why does it belong at or below 1500?"

value of the currencies vs each other?

Break down: Economies, growth potential, political stability, interest rate yield differential, respective liquidity.

Sorry to be so vague. You can google this site as this has been talked about ad nauseum here for the past 3 weeks.

As a counterpoint, let's not forget:

Rule of law in the US, Colombian capital controls, urgent need for structural reform in Colombia to make a better business environment, most of the world's market leaders domiciled in the US, possibility for the US to leverage military advantages into economic advantages.

The US does admittedly need a change of administration and certain structural reform too. Mainly in healthcare and tort reform.

I think the peso needs to be closer to 2000 than 1500, especially considering the higher rate of inflation in Col. I think the real issue is the dollar needs to cycle higher than it currently is.

que nota!

Pedro are you going by the BigMac index?

Going by the buying power of a BigMac Index....

IF and only IF the dollar ever fetches north of 2000 again, 2000 in Colombia will be only worth south of 1500.
