I think 1900-2100 is a good place for the peso... colombian central bank needs to buy out as much of their debt as possible (good for the colombian people), lower interest rates (good for businesses and eventually the people), reduce the taxes (50% taxes for a new car???) and let the economy stand on it's own without intervention... colombian gov't should also focus on services for the people i.e. reducing paperwork and time to get anything done!

Hopefully we see a 2,400 PESO in August for all the festivities.

All you need to do is buy debit spreads - this way if there is volatility is any direction you make money. Up or down as long as it moves nicely you are making money. When markets are down like they are now there is not a lot of stability and big money is jumping in and out of things. This skittish vibe means movement. Taking advantages of big swings is how day traders like G Loid make money. Flat markets are good for grandmas who collect dividends. Although if you are certain that something is going to tank you can just buy the puts like christobeldawg says.

bickerss....................... most people know here that i´m heavily into gold and precious metal options..........and oil............where i´m long.

i´m long on optionable commodity etf´s also.

long on just one stock, nlr, which is a uranium stock. uranium has been over sold and with the energy problems i think uranium will do well in the future. it´s not optionable so i bought stock on margin for the biggest bang.

now for the shorts, or puts.............i put the nasdaq, put the dow, put bank stocks, put the internet companies with real high earnings per share, put the dollar against the euro,

i loaded up last tuesday...

and whammo.......you get a day like thursday...................and holy moly!!!! i was controlling over a 100,000 shares in option contracts and everything going my way.

but it´s not really what you have as choices in the markets................you gotta think like a conspiracy theorist/conspiracy realist/truthseeker, etc.

as of friday...........i am now really locked and loaded for something bad happening like an attack on Irans oil facilities this summer. i can´t believe W would leave office without some sort of bombing of iran. i could be wrong as i don´t have a crystal ball but if there is an attack......you´ll be seeing another holy moly post from me.

i'm going to throw out another conspiracy realist theory being that we´re in a peso thread. this looks like a friendly group here and i´ve met rocinante and cdawg in person and as a result they consider me sane. I hope!

i haven´t discussed regional currency integration in quite awhile, (i.e., US dollar, Mexican peso, Canadian dollar merging into the Amero.), because of the ad hominem created.

I also re read that article on the euro from Forbes that was actually posted quite some time ago by King Leonaidas when it came out. (I notice a lot of you guys take that as gospel because it is in Forbes, or some other kind of mass media)

Him and I discussed it on PM and I didn´t buy into it at that time, March I think, and i went long on the euro with currency shares............and yep, you guessed it, holy moly. It´s at what, $1.58 as I write this sentence? I still haven't closed the position but if it hits $1.62 strike price....whopeee!

But back to truth seeking........one thing i gleaned from Forbes' story about the fall of the Euro:

US dollar, Canadian dollar, Mex Peso....PLUS EURO.......= Amero???

Now don't read anything into this........I throw theories into the trash all the time........just something to think about.

I know the way he bought those futures, he said that couldn't be done in a regular trading account, like Schwab or Fidelity. Gloid may know more about this.

cdawg, look at the heat that i took when i said oil would reach $80...................and then $150.

these prices are based entirely on fundamentals that can be proven by anyone with an internet connection. they could have done this as i did in 2005.

demand is going up, all suppliers are pumping less...........what happens to the price? this is simply supply and demand as well as economics 101.

speculation means you can go the other way also..............so i don't know why you blame us.

this is what free markets are for.............if i want to believe there is going to be a criminal attack on Irans oil facilities............and i place bets on that forecast................well, that's business.

For me, I feel the better way is with options. It can take months to play out, rather than seconds or microseconds and it is much more forgiving, if you know what i mean. you can really lose your ass on the forex. GIB has been doing this for 15 years...........so he has a good understanding. gloid there are many attack dawgs here, that's the only problem I have with this site. Maybe they will call the new world currency something other than euro or amero, so as not to offend the other countries outside of those stronger economic regions. Got any ideas?

admittedly, arriving can feel great too

agreed Rubito but I think one of the posters said they had agreed on sending a set amount, so maybe that is the compromise that works.

i've mentioned before that i use just one source to determine future trends, the Council on Foreign Relations. They're a group of people that submit papers on various global issues. I only look in the media for any kind of verification of what they've finally decided on as policy. Bush and the Congressman are just messenger boys. The CFR takes its orders from the Royal Institute of International Affairs.

the world is becoming flat so why wouldn''t the currencies also follow suit? the question is how can you make some money out of the changes in policy?

I never buy any of their books, the members all have blogs where they discuss what's in the books for free. There is some really good information on this site.

So 1776 and all that is just an illusion? What a charming idea...
