Peru, Ecuador, etc

There are posts about Colombia, Bolivia and India, but why aren't there any posts about Peru, Ecuador, etc?

No ???

Robert Jorge says on Nov 18, 2007, 09:31:

Rob77 - Are you talking about that terrible Peruvian version of Jerry Springer where they will have a 15 year old girl in tears on stage, and then they bring out her uncle who impregnated her as the audience throws stuff at him? If so, I thought that was called Laura sin censura.

hahahahahahaha
Laura is the most nauseating program, but it is hilarious in small doses.

"Laura my saviour thank you for saving my life..." says indigenous girl X about white angelic Laura before throwing a chair at husband Y

Robert Jorge says on Nov 18, 2007, 10:07:

Yep, I can take about 5 to 10 minutes of it ... then I have to move on to something else. I love how they have security hold the male guests down - hands on their shoulders while standing behind them. Security is dresssed in a military style outfit with BDU pants, black shirts complete with a battle vest with pockets.

I am peruvian. Please do not think by any means that Peru is represented by that tv show (if you can call that a tv show). You have no idea how many times ppl make a joke about that when realize I'm from Peru. It funny but after a while you get tired of that. People get paid to say all that on camera, its a completely and demonstrated scam. We all hate Laura in Peru...(even the ones who get paid)

elmodefoque says on Nov 19, 2007, 07:36:

Tuco, is sad how Laura has single handed destroyed the imagine of indigenous Peruvian people. That bony white ugly OLD bit-ch.
Listen, I’m not gonna deny, some of my injun people are drunken, toothless, ugly and stupid modefoques but not ALL.
Many, though poor, are quite dignified and proud people.
You take a few knuckleheads and display them on TV and you could easily destroy an entire culture. I bet most here think Arabs are ALL terrorists.
According to FOX (angry white man TV) illegal Mexican are single handed destroying the USA economy. How? I don’t know, you ask them.
Many in NYC think southern states are just like the people on the jerry Springer show, but they're not, is only like 99.9% the rest could read and write.
Many in the south think NYC is nothing but Jews, gumbas, blacks and spics but is not. Is only 99.9%, the rest are regular nice white folks.

Rob77 says on Nov 19, 2007, 08:24:

Of course, a show is not completely representative of a country. That would be like saying Jerry Springer's inbred participants and viewers are representative of the US. In fact, they only represent the people who voted for Bush, 2 times! (Just kiddin, I think!)

But I have met Peruvians who act with as little refinement as the folks on that show. So it made me think . . . maybe they are not really exaggerating so much!

Tuco99, Bienvenido a este foro.
The majority of the members on this site are misinformed about Colombia, South America and of course, Peru. I therefore encourage you post as much positive info about Peru so they can learn more about the real Peru, as you know in the states there is only one country that speaks Spanish.

Refinement? I'm dating a Peruvian girl. Her family is real snobby. They started coming here years ago little by little and made some money. She was the last one to come to the U.S. 2 years ago. The family gets angry because she is always smiling and friendly with people. They tell her its no good. They will only read the New York Times newspaper. If you hand them the Daily News or Post, they will throw it away. They only drink wine and look down on beer drinking. One night at a party with them, I gozzled about 12 beers and they were appalled.

I remember Dr. Toredo and his family, they used have nice parties for every major holiday or birthdays.

Another example. the correct way is HIJO DE PUTA
we say, hijueputa

I also wouldn't base an opinion on Peru using Laura as a standard. It is simply a Jerry Springer type of fake talk show. The only thing that is uglier than her leather like neck and upper chest is her terrible voice.

the tv or the media could be very informative and educational but it also can also take away
from a nation the culture or smear the true image of a country. A good example of an affected nation, Colombia also.

Jumbo - Anything specific you need to know about Peru? Been to the country and it's rather interesting. If you look gringo, you will get women with minimal amount of work however some of them are prepagadas mijas if not most but you get the upper-hand anyways. Been to Lima three times & last time did the Shaman trip to Iquitos. Interesting trip for one of the rivers that takes you to the amazon area from iquitos to Leticia. If like getaways that get you in touch with your down-to-earth-side, I recommend it. I am Hispanic so I have no problem in what quarters I stay in sometimes so to give you an idea. Life was great it is quite amazing when you see how some people make a living and survive & observe towns in the middle of nowhere. Made me want to stay around get to know a nice Peruvian chica and live my life in content & hopefully happy. I want to do Ecuador and Brazil and self-teaching Brazilian-Portuguese so if you or anyone has been to Brazil or Ecuador, do let me know. Cheers All !!!!!

Please enjoy while you can. Please do so!
