Periera advice

I'll be heading off on a tour of Colombia shortly. One place I really want to visit is the area around Periera. So I have two questions: 1. Does anyone know of some cheap accomodation in Periera. 2. What can you recommend that I do there for three days and two nights?

For once. . . . . .I have to say I agree with you, Camilo. Visit the thermal baths in Santa Rosa de Cabal, and visit the Parque de Cafe. You could also go to the pretty village of Salento and eat the trout.

pueblo querido Yes, Santa Rosa de Cabal!!!

And don't just pass by it on car on your way to the Termales, take time to walk around the plaza, visit the churches, sit and have a cup of coffee in one of the many cafes, buy some fresh fruits at the corners, see the sunset from El Mirador... and my personal favorite place is 7 Puertas just outside the town on the road leading to the Termales. If you decide to stay in the town itself, there are dozens of little hotels around the center, probably cheaper and cozier than anything you'll find in Pereira, which is only 20 minutes away.

I also highly recommend Parque del Cafe and Salento, but don't miss the nearby city of Manizales which is simply charming!
