IT IS WITH VERY SAD NEWS THAT I MUST REPORT THAT "RODADERO JOHN" IS DEAD. His passing occured several months ago, I am just now posting because I didn´t know what name john was using on PBH until today.
John died suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Rodadero. John was from St. Petersgurg FL and had been living here in Colombia for a little over 2 yrs at the time of his death. At his request, his ashes were taken out to sea, the place he loved so much.

BAQ says on Dec 14, 2007, 16:47: John´s full name as John Zalinskie, he was a good friend of mine here. We met by accident one day while he was in barranquilla. John had both legs amputated because he was a diabetic. He had an oceanview condo in Rodadero and boat that he loved to go fishing on. He was one hell of a nice guy and never had a bad word to say about anyone and I miss my friend. Semper Fidelis ! |

scotty says on Dec 14, 2007, 16:57: BAQ, he sounds like a very nice man, it also sounds like he spent his last days happy and comfortable in a place he wanted to be. Get Rhythm, when you got the blues. Johnny Cash |

Robert Jorge says on Dec 14, 2007, 17:32: I never knew the man. But I wish I had and I want to give my sincere condolences to you BAQ since you knew him, and of course to anybody else who knew who he was. Sounds like he was a cool guy. Maybe there is a way Peter could make a remembrance section - sort of a memorial, to PBH members who pass away. Thanks BAQ for making us aware of his passing. Here's a beer to you Rodadero John. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. scotty says on Dec 15, 2007, 00:03: i have a suggestion for Peter. He Pete just a thought why dont you have a section on PBH with a rememberance of those who were regular posters on PBh then passed on. Maybe just a mention of their name and a brief summary about them? just a thought. Get Rhythm, when you got the blues. Johnny Cash |

bufalo says on Dec 16, 2007, 06:29: Nope, never set eyes on him, just remember when he joined up PBH. I answered a question for him, forget what it was. I haven't been to El Rodadero in 5 years, before that a lot of shady foreigners would be there, not as bad a Cartagena, but odd ones.
