In order to rent an entire house or multi-bedroom apt is it necessary to get a Colombian to co-sign any legal documents?
I would like to hear from anyone who has rented here with a contract, especially someone who did it without the benefit of a local friend.
Thank you. Many helpful folks on this site.

Sometimes, the person renting also needs to work in the public. it can be very difficult. I have been through the process a few times. In Manizales, it was very difficult, but now I live in Pamplona, MUCH EASIER.

Robert Jorge says on Aug 5, 2007, 03:01: Ah, you have been checking my profile PowWow. I have no idea what the hell your point is/was, because you can't articulate a simple sentence. I can understand iceheads better than I can understand your dribble. I love your 250 word post ... without one period. A period is that thing that stops a sentence, a thought; gives an opportunity for a new thought and sentence to begin. Did you even graduate high school, or the equivalent? If yes, that is sad and amazing. I worked my ass off to get a C average in school, and I could run mental circles around your pea-brain dribble. If I had been in your school, I would have been Valedictorian, if you are the standard by which others are measured. --"I believe in making the world safe for our children. Sometimes owners are motivated and will rent without the signers, sometimes they want them..... There are signers there that will do this if you need for something like 100k.....as a service.... I signed a couple of times for friends....then the next time someone asked I paid the 100k fee for someone else to sign...so i'm not on the hook...

I looked into a few of these and you do have to have someone to co-sign just any person will not do, it has to be a Colombian with a bank account, on my next trip I am going to schmooze someone who works for one of these companies so when ever I go down I will not have to go through all the paperwork.
