We're trying to plan a trip through Central America. The stumbling block is getting from Panama to Cartagena (and back). ..
I had heard there was a ferry but can't find anything about it. If there is one, is there a schedule? How much does it cost? How long does it take?
What other ways (besides flying on a commerical airline) are there to get from Panama to Cartagena?
THANKS

If you don't want to fly, your only safe option is to head on down to the Panama Yacht club in Colon, read the posted notices, and post a notice of your own. You're looking for a cruiser headed to Cartagena, which is common. Some lucky few get to ride for free as crew, but most have to pay about $200-$300/head, which is reasonable. The bonus is that you'll get to see the San Blas Islands along the way. The downside is that if you get motion sick, you'll have to learn how to puke down wind. Wasteland 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
