Panama to Bogota options?

I've got a friend going to a resort in Panama next month, and he wants to come down to Bogota for a week as well. Is Copa the only decent air option from Panama? I can't believe it costs $400 for such a short flight. Anybody know of other options? It's kind of weird, the resort is on the Pacific side, down near the Colombian border... so close, yet so far away...

Copa is the ONLY airline for a direct flight I have been saying for the longest time that the price is high. Recnetly I checked and the price was not qute that high. I just checked Travelocity and Copa was $303. Copa is the only airline that I know of that flies directly to BOG from Panama.

Travelocity.com is a good website to check fares

West Caribbean flies from Panama City to Medellin, $170 one way, $278 round trip. Not to Bogota though.

Flights to Bogota I´ve always believed that those internet travel sites don´t offer the best rates, specially outside the US. Always check with a local travel agency.
Copa flies for around 200 dollars or a little more to Bogota in the evening everyday.
Avianca flies twice to Bogota from Panama, at noon and then around 6 pm.
Now is the low season so prices should be lower than in December or early January.

Yes, they do fly to Bogota but not directly from Panama City.

I forgot Avianca in addition to Copa I was thinking Cali. Copa is the only airline that flies non-stop Panama Cali anc vica versa. If you fly Cali to Panama, you have to go through Bogota. So you can take Avianca or Copa. Both fares, if purchased far enough in advance, should be able to be purchased for around $300.
