I hope you hit Bogota at some point in your trip. I´d love to meet you (again)! And hopefully you can meet my GF as well!

I don't know why I was reminded of the chorus of this cumbia that La Tambora, a bogotano group wrote:

"... No me saquen de mi tierra mamá
No me vayan a matá
Que aca tengo yo mi yuca sembrá
Y allá yo no tengo ná..."

Well, good for you! You've met Rubiazo? (And lived to tell?)

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

Hellooooooooooo!! I am in Manizales right now, just arrived from Bogota a couple of hours ago.

Bogota was wonderful, I am very impressed with how far the city has come along since the last time I was there!!!!! The transmilenio concept is absolutely incredible. I refused to be driven around everywhere, I love riding los buses de 1100 pesos with salsa music and everything, I hate being mistaken for a gomela!!! The days I was in Bogota, I managed to hit la candelaria, la zona T , usaquen.... my family keeps insiting they want to take me to the malls, but I really didnt come here to check out the malls (impressive as though they are), I am here to breathe Colombian air, I spend my life in a mall there in Canada. I am very impressed with Bogota today however, super metropolitan, the highways are as good as any Canadian highway if not better.

IF you guys go to la zona T, check out a club called Punta Sur, that is my cousins bar, the dude selling lamps at the door is my cousin Marcelo, he is a crazy motherf(/%%/... tell him his crazy cousin from Canada sent you there!!!

I was in bogota for 5 days and managed to offend 250 out of my 500 relatives. They always want you to be at their house having tintico con pastel, and I just havent had the time to hit every single relatives house, plus I am a free spirit that loves to roam around town, I love the good the bad and the ugly, I don{t want to spend my time here in colombia just sitting in a estrato 6 apartment, watching Los REyes... ja ja ja. Every sight and sound has stolen my heart, but nothing like the blind man who sells cell phone minutes and candy in front of the granahorrar mall. He is so corageous to sit there day in and day out making a living, God knows how many times he has been swindled by people just giving him bills with the wrong denomination..... he is a perfect example of why colombia is charging ahead full speed in spite of the hardship, he is the epitome of resilience. If you guys go to granahorrar mall, look for this guy outside the main entrance and give him a bill :) :)

Right now my house is packed with relatives. When the plane I was on flew over Manizales and I caught a glimpse of la catedral from teh air, I started bawling like a freaking moron, I couldn{t hold back the tears, I am such a chillona.

Estoy feliz de respirar mi aire, de pisar mi tierra, de abrazar mi sangre, de estar rodeada de acentos familiares y caras conocidas.

Words though useful at times, fail to explain what Im feeling right now.

Un abrazo

Adri yeah, I havent even had a chance to freshen up, my house is packed with aunts, uncles, cousins... I must look like death with 2 hours of sleep, but they are all so happy to see me, and I am so happy to see them..... to hell with privacy, I guess I will have plenty of that once I get back to the great white north.

For now, it is dimension chibchombia mija.
