Owning Colombian Property

Can anyone with experience in buying property in Colombia help me get in contact with reliable people in Bogota?? Can a US citizen or a US corporation own property in Colombia without a Colombian citizen(s) "guarantee" or as a partner??
Thanks!!

Well, I own property. I bought a house for $100,000USD and all I needed was my passport. Same for my car. Can you own property? Sure you can and Colombia encourages it. Just get a good real estate attorney to help you through the morass as is similar in the U.S.

It is not life that matters, but the journey.

I purchased in Medellin last year. Nothing needed except your money and passport.

I would suggest using a good attorney. Things don't work the same in Colombia as they do in the U.S. Do a lot of research and educate yourself on the subject before buying.

I bought undeveloped farm land same as above.I bought a prefab house, I had the $$$ they built the house in 2.5 days. Only recently have I had a resident cedulla. I have a Colombian wife yes, but I am the owner of record. I pay the taxes ( less than $10 USD/year) etc.
