Opening myself up...a little bit

Since elmodo is sharing his photos today, I thought I would get into the act.

And no, I'm not giving anyone the contact info for my wife, lol. She lives in the US with my dog, but that is as much information as anyone is getting.

I guess I can start the competition with morphus to see if I can measure up to his manly standards, lol.

Anyone under 20, PLEASE don't reply!

Thanks....technically, we are still married, and I am going to see her in two month, but we're seeing other people. We've at least been able to be good friends throughout this process...and she has never tried to take advantage of me or ask for money. She pays for her car and health insurance, works two jobs (as a waitress), and goes to school full-time, in what for her is a foreign country and a second language.

She was only 20 (one month from 21) when we married. She was way too young and not ready to be married, but that's water under the bridge.

So she's your future ex-wife? It's good to be able to be on good terms with former lovers. I'm friends with all my former lovers except one and I would sure like to kiss and make up with that one. There is just something wrong about not being friendly and on good terms with a former lover.

I've had a lot of former lovers in Colombia for 9 months, probably too many. I'm trying to slow down and find someone ¨real¨ that I would enjoy spending time with over the long term...it's just a pain to have to wade through all the chaff to get to the wheat.

Nice couple!!! its a pity...you would've had beautiful babies....It is nice to be in good terms with exs, being not prepared to get married doesnt have anything to do when you are over 20, i think it is more about match and where everyone is focusing its life and if you see each other together and doing what in the future.....just and opinion

Okay, like the typical guy, I fell in love with her before I knew that we were truly compatible. Instead of finding someone with the inner characteristics, men often look at exterior beauty and hope the inside is enough to live with, lol. Then I made the double mistake of rushing into marriage because we wouldn't have been able to be together for over a year and one-half...I was impatient, I thought I needed to be married like all of my friends, have children, the house, etc., and I wasn't ready either. We are both spoiled only children. Living with her for two years really helped me to understand myself...especially the things I tolerated as a bachelor living alone that are difficult for women (in general) to live with...it was a great learning experience, though, and I am much better off for having had the relationship, despite all the attendant pain involved.

OF COURSE, it should be the other way around...and there are many beauties here that turn ugly after about 5 minutes of conversation, even in Spanish.

Thats why.... i agree with those who want to live together first(including me), it is not easy to live with somebody, there is when you start to see defects and qualities for real.....the advantage for those who move together first is that if it doesnt work just package everything and leave...you would've gained experience for your next step....but being married i find it a little harder 'cause in my case i just wanna get married once....

Yeah, under ordinary circumstances, we would never have gotten married (if we had the chance to date normally and live in the same city). We both took a huge risk, as international relationships normally are...they either work out great or fail spectacularly....probably about 75% would fall into the latter category.

Coolgirl, do you live in Colombia or the US? I think I have seen where you are going to be travelling to the US in the summer, but for some reason I had the impression you either lived or were from Cali.

caulfield2, I think you are sugar coating things a little bit. You knew what you were doing when you married that girl. Thats the best way to do it; marry a really young one for a couple of years until you get bored, then go back to Colombia for more young ones. She better work. If not, only $4 a day for lunch. You're not a bad looking guy but i'm sure those "other people" she is seeing look more like Enrique Iglesias and Sean Paul.

that's what Calipro does! "Thats the best way to do it; marry a really young one for a couple of years until you get bored, then go back to Colombia for more young ones."

He marries them when in love with them and divorce when he's out of love. Then goes back to the watering hole and catch another one! He use to post tons fotos for the peanut gallery.. Too bad, he got flamed for doing that, and we dont see the fotos anymore.. :-( LOL!

You´re making an assumption that I am like you. You might like the young ones...but there´s no way you should even think of marrying someone under 22 or 23 IMO.

I would challenge you to find ANY Russian women under 21 or 22 that are marrying American men. The majority of the people that are marrying are 25-35 and have children. The ¨best¨ ones don´t have to marry Americans...they have a better lifestyle in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Kiev than 95% of American cities.

She actually hasn´t had much time to date, she has been too busy. She did date someone that was her same age, which is a logical enough thing to do. I never considered Sean Paul to be that attractive, but the women she has gone out have been above-average looking but certainly not models. Maybe one of them. Most of them made more money than me (that´s not hard, I´m a teacher, duh!)...but I don´t see her getting married again (for money this time) because she doesn´t want to be controlled by anyone, and she doesn´t think it´s possible to be monagamous with just one person for the rest of her life.

caulfield2 says on Apr 29, 2006, 15:50:

Utopiacow....

I just looked up that picture, lol....she is very attractive, and hopefully she has all or some of the other qualities that one is looking for in a wife. I can´t imagine she´s ready to get married, though...hopefully she will grow into that role. The problem I had with my wife (one of a few) is that she had never had the freedom to be on her own before, as her stepfather was very strict, psychologically and possibly abusing her physically.

She comes to the US and has freedom for the first time...women at that age, 18-24, normally want to enjoy life, go out dancing and clubbing, travelling, university...the last thing they want to do is have children or be ¨stuck¨ in the house doing traditional wifely duties, whatever those may be.

As far as calipro goes, I hope the sun is kind to him and he doesn´t get skin cancer. He seems to have a pretty pink tone...the principal of my school is the same way (Canadian) and he has to be VERY careful down here with the sun intensity.

Its hard to find a virgin girl under 22. Remember, if the girl was'nt a virgin on her wedding night, the whole thing was a farce anyway. I'm not getting married unless I find an 18 year old virgin girl that loves me poor. Then it would be real.

Ah...yes, one of those errors like unchartered waters (used more frequently) and charted waters.

LOL

I´m not sure what the fascination is with virgins, but that has already been covered extensively in one of your threads.

Coolgirl, no plans for marriage...lol...I´m not even seeing anyone for the first time in 9 months down here, and it has actually been really nice.

Not Kevin Costner, John Travolta or Don Johnson???...I would have given anything to be Don Johnson in this old, forgettable movie called The Hot Spot, as the alluring presence of a young Jennifer Connelly throughout that flick made it bearable and probably a problem for Don with Melanie Griffith as well.

Actually, the celebrities that I get most often are Tom Hanks, and, a few times, Jim Carrey. Back in the day, I used to be compared to Timothy Dalton when he was the James Bond character, but he´s faded from memory.

Maybe it´s the whole Tom Hanks thing, or having kind of a baby face...but I´ve never been confused with a mafioso. Most girls say that I look ¨simpatico,¨ maybe it´s because I am smiling all the time. That and the blue eyes are my advantages down here, although I´m not sure I can keep up with Morphus´ Hollywood aspirations. And I am far from an enforcer, lol, now...maybe you were confused because I was driving a Russian Mercedes in that pic. I´ve lost about 10-15 pounds since then from walking all around Colombia and Peru, so I look a little different at 170 than 185-190.
