According to this article, only 16% of the Colombians travelling to the US do so for business purposes. This in contrast to 38% of Brazilians and 29% of Mexicans.
What is wrong with Colombia? Why do we have so little people going on business to the US compared to other Latin American countries.
It says most Colombians go for tourism and to visit relatives and friends. I guess there are many Colombians living in the US, bu there are also many Brazilians and obviously Mexicans living there, yet, they manage to have more business trips to the US.

rjstuff says on Jun 13, 2008, 09:09: Could it be that this statistic is 'made up' and people from Mexico and Brazil are just marking it 'for business' when in fact they are going for visiting (and migrating) also, just like many Colombians are?

My employees in Colombia are turned down on a regular basis for training in the states, and i have provided all the paperwork and documents they have required... We were told that there is a certain $ amount the applicant needs to have in the bank, besides owning property... No one will share what the $ amount is... Go figure!!!
