one way ticket

I´m flying into Bogotá from B.A. on a one way ticket and plan to buy my ticket out to the US in Bogotá. Will I have any problems entering the country without an outgoing ticket?
Thanks
Trent

I entered with a one way ticket.

The DAS guy rolled his eyes, and seemed a little pissed, but he let me in anyway.

They can, however, deny you entry for any reason or non reason they choose.

Tgordon DAS is unlikely to ask, because the airline check your tickets at the airport of departure from your home Country. The check in desk will ask to see your onward/return ticket if it is not part of the ticket that you give them to book in. So you wouldn't know about it if you handed them a return/onward ticket.

If the airline lets a person on the aircraft who doesn't have a return/onward ticket and the authorities at the other end find out, it can cause the airline problems and they are also normally fined, depending on the Country, also they can refuse you entry to Colombia.

If you have residence in two Countries you are traveling between, you won't need to book a onward/return ticket.

As daver, points out it is possible to get away with it as with many other things in Colombia, or the guy on the desk can't be bothered to do his job properly, or you can't waffle your way out of it, but is it worth the risk, DAS can be bastards.

return ticket Does the return ticket have to be the same airline? Or can they be different carriers.?

They just want to see that you have a ticket to leave Colombia. It doesn't even have to be back to the country you came from. Any ticket will do so long as it originates from Colombia, and lands anywhere but Colombia.

Most of the time, they do not ask to see it. In my case, they asked, I didn't have it, and they let me in. I am married to a Colombian, so this may have played a role in this guy's decision. I didn't ask.

Travel Hi. Im a colombian and i just got my student visa to study in the states. When they delivered my passport they alo gave me an envolope that said i could only travel to the states a month before i started classes (which is agost 24). I want to travel to the u.s as soon as possible but i know im restricted by this rule. But before i got my student visa i had my tourist visa, which hasnt expire yet. So i was wondering if anyone could tell me if i could travel to the states before the date that my student visa allows me but using my tourist visa. If anyone has information that could help me i would appreciate it.

Work Visa How about on a work visa? I only bought a one-way ticket. Will I have problems if I have a work visa and don't have a return ticket. I can't purchase a round-ticket after 11 months, so I had no choice. Any suggestions, or should I be fine?
