One way ticket Avianca

I recently bought a one-way ticket on Delta and then Avianca from Seattle to Medellin. My buddy just informed me that Avianca requires a return ticket to board the plane to go to Colombia... Is that true? Any ideas on how to get around that?

It's true Bad luck I guess you'll just have to buy another single ticket. The check in people are very thorough as the airline is responsible for repatriation if passengers are not allowed entry to any country. I wouldn't risk it.

You could go to the nearest Colombian Consulate and get a VISA. I came into Colombia in Oct. on a one-way ticket. I hold a Rentista VISA.

Otherwise follow the advice above.

just make a fake eticket, and print it out, from anothe airline that flies in or out of colombia. thats what i did, and they accepted that. but have enough money in ur account incase that doesnt work and u have to buy a etun ticket at the aipot. i did this 3 months ago from madrid to bogota and it was fine.

Just wondering I assume this doesn't apply to people with dual-citizenship (Colombian & U.S.)

refundable ticket to venezuela I had the same problem. My advice would be to fork out for a cheap refundable ticket to Venezuela. When you get to Colombia, cancel your Venezuela ticket and get your money back.

Hope this helps.

almost forgot I nearly forgot to mention that you don't have to have a return ticket. You just have to have onward travel from Colombia.

Cheers
