1 way Colombian consulate in my country, Australia asvises it is fine as long as you have a ticket to exit. ie. an onward flight to ecuador.

All airlines in the US technically require a roundtrip ticket, to help insure you don't stay in the country illegaly. Some enforce this more than others. I've never had Delta say anything, but Continental and American have both stopped me before. Fortunately, I'm a merchant marine and exempt! ;o)
