Old Gringo from Vancouver coming to Colombia looking for action.

Sports action, maybe kick boxing, a good gym, yoga, practice spanish with a bright happy Colombiana and to get involved with the culture.

I was going to post this on anothe thread but as the threads often do it fell in the banos. I guess that is why staying on topic is all important. I think my reasons for coming are very very common here and I certainly mean no harm.

1.Pure sex tourism is done in several places that are obviously much more suited for that. Cuba, brazil, SE Asia,Europe even Vancouver, no danger and less disease.

2.I am over 50 but thank god I don’t have a weight problem or a receding hairline. Some people here see such people and think they are the scum of the earth, apparently. How about if he/she was afflicted with eczema or other bad rash also?

3. I had two Colombian GF’s in Vancouver. The first 3 years ago was to young at 22 yo and the 2nd was 24 but with an older attitude and finished university in Bogotá as an abogata so the reason for the maturity difference. She excelled at her job here in Vancouver and was soon in charge of 15 other Jealous Colombian women. (Colombian flower importer).
She often said she loved me and I would say…I like you a lot but I don’t want it so serious. Of course she wanted babies even if she said she could live with out them. Of course she would be pushing me around in my little rascal scooter and changing my diapers in 25 years when she is still young. So I think that is why I went to Mexico for 10 weeks and lost her love. Thank God because I could never have left her. I found out it is true: You don’t always know what you have until you lose it.

4. So now I find Canadian women too much trouble to date, even Latinas that have been here some time are often not suitable. Simply said there are some amazing Canadian and American Women but finding one is tough. It is not easy to approach them cause there are so many bitchy messed up women that you don’t want to take the chance.

I dated much easier in Mexico and actually fell in love 2X’s there (on trips before meeting the colombian girls who were sisters by the way.

5. This puts me as one of the Old gringos who will come to Colombia, Brazil, etc to find a place he would like to retire and hopefully find a woman of his dreams. Actually I think it is almost guaranteed as the women are easy to meet and many are very easy going as I myself am. Even if a little hot blooded at times.

6. It would be much more interesting to read the threads here without having to skim through the animosity. If you don’t agree with my point of view I suggest you just state your own with only the slightest of reference if necessary to mine if you feel there is an obvious need to correct a misstatement.

8. Je je je Oh and by the way I am not looking for a wife. Just a relationship and I don’t think there is a need to rush in. But some may think I am hot to trot if they read some of my question posts. It is just that dating is a big part of a persons social life and when your on vacation you have a lot of social time.

Good Luck... I don't see anything wrong with knowing what you want and going after it. After all, finding the partner of your dreams is what it's all about if you believe any of those fairy tales or romance novels. I found mine in Colombia.

My next comment may erase the compliment…although I certainly don’t want it to. Who knows even though you’re a female we may meet up one day in Colombia and be friends?
Just got back from the pub. Had a few brews with some buds (and my cousin Jim who is in the foto with me on my web page) who say they may come with me on an adventure to Colombia…it is an adventure is it not?

With 3 or 4 pints and maybe 15 chickens giving up their wings for me I thought…!!! Hmmmm you know I don’t have to look for something serious in Colombia. Maybe I should find a lady of any age 20 or hmmm 45 and just enjoy my time. Being honest …if she is 22 I would be saying…I am too old for long term…you need babies and a husband that will be around in 40 years etc etc. But really I am not in a hurry and I want to enjoy life and learn Spanish. And more practically in the first year or two learning about Colombian culture and relationships etc. maybe I am better off with a relationship that can only be temporary due to the extreme age difference.

This is something one can do if one wants and is lucky enough to have someone who wants to do it with him. And some how I think it can happen in Colombia, hopefully not to be a tearful sad end for anyone.
Learn Spanish, have fun, expand your knowledge base with out having to get heavily involved. Hmmm
That being said I still would like to see a picture of Aussie girl…I mean Sydney girl. Who supports me on seeing Sydney’s foto? Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it is not a meat market. If it were I certainly wouldn’t post MY foto.

And Anyone agree that I just want to have fun is a good enough reason to go after any age of female?

Thats 'viviría'. I think you'll do just fine in Colombia. I like Bogotá because a) its not blisteringly hot b) there are ppl from all over Colombia here.

Don't forget that having a personal dose of drugs is perfectly legal here, as is prostitution. I havent done much whoring here because i have a gf here who totally wears me out :))) but FWIW I do think its better in Brazil for that then here.
