Obtaining DAS certificate (part of K1 process)

My novia is making the rounds completing her list of requirements for the interview. Today, in Cali, she went to DAS to obtain her national certificate. The told her she needs an appointment - and that none are available before our required travel to BOG!!

Can anyone share their experiences in obtaining their DAS paperwork?

She has a back up plan to travel to Tulua where she believes it's more low-key and she can have an easier time to obtain it.

Thanks!!

I remember it was a hassle I'll have to check, but I think my novia want in on a Mon or a Tues to get it, and they didn't do it on other days, but I don't recall for sure.

(Of course the checklist in Packet 3 says you need to have all that in hand BEFORE you send in the form to the embassy).

Right, so that excuses them from not giving me enough time - you are right about that. I wonder if obtaining a DAS can be done within 15 days?

My wife's experience in Medellin is that they did it on certain days and you got it the same day. It was no big deal.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

In barranquilla My wife got a DAS certification here last year for her VISA, they did it all in one day, no appointment needed. Had to go to the bank and pay the fee, then got in one line for some papers, then a second line for more papers, waited a few hours and had her papers.

It appears, as with other DAS issues, it depends on WHAT CITY you are in regarding services, information ect.

That sounds about right. I think the only hassle was going in on the right day (Mon or Tue, in Cali).
