Nuqui?

My girlfriend and I are planning to travel to Colombia a few weeks in December/January. We are considering going to Nuqui (on the pacific coast) as we heard it is exceptional. We have found limited information on the destination (probably a good sign). We understand, today, it is safe (in local terms). Have any of you been? What is it like? Any recommendations?

Locals are often Afro-Colombians with a strong dose of Indigenous blood.

It's a fabulous area but achingly poor.

nuqui Locals from medellin often go on holidays in nuqui, so theres a whole set of beachfront huts you can rent.. not backpacker-cheap, but affordable anyways. There's not much to do, the jungle basically stretches almost into the sea. Long empty beaches, yes. Brown sand, not white. ok for swimming, not fantastic like tayrona park.

I'd love to see your description/pictures if you go!
