Nuqui and El Cantil.

Can any one tell me first hand what El Cantil is like to stay at. I gather that the accomodation is basic which is fine and that it rains alot around there. I am returning back to Colombia from Australia for a holiday next year in October/ November and want to go surfing there. I will be tavelling with my partner (originally she is from Bogota) but she has never been to Costa Pacifico before. Is the security good around El Cantil and surrounding Eco Lodges?.

We have been to El Cantil twice in the last 3 years. It's an amazing place as long as you are into eco tourism. The rooms are very basic but comfortable. The food is very good and sourced from local farmers so, get ready to eat fish...The best thing about the place is the people; friendly and authentic. Surfing is very good and I think is a left??? My husband surfs and some of the places are for very advanced surfers. Go on the walk to see the poison frogs. They are great! Not to mention the whales.....Ah! And it does rain quite a bit!

If you are dealing with the main office in El Poblado, don't worry and trust them. You are in good hands. Definitely go, it's worth it.
