Notre Dame Football in Colombia

I like American College Football (NCAA). More specifically, I love the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program (http://und.cstv.com). I also like whoever is playing Miami. :-)
I have been a ND fan all of my life.

I have seen Notre Dame play from Dublin, Ireland, to Los Angeles, California. I have gone to a game every year for the past 17 years. Last year, I saw them beat Duke in South Bend and UCLA in LA (they only won three games last year).

Even though I live in Colombia, I still plan on going to at least 2 or 3 games this year. I will have a Dish Satellite TV set up in Miami and Bucaramanga, so I can watch the rest of the games live. I will even have the live feeds set up on the Internet as a stand by.

Is any one else a big US College Football fan? Who do you like? What do you do to see the games live, if anything, from outside the US? Any good Sports Bars for College Football where you live? Any good stories to share?

Thanks......Go Irish!

You sound like my friend reading his issue of blue and gold. They sell everything in there. You can even buy copies of players x-rays.

I miss my novia!

Notre Dame is a great academic institution. They have also become a big commercial institution. I believe they may rank the following in order of importance:

1. Benjamin Franklin
2. Jesus Christ
3. Charlie Weis

Beat USC?

2007: USC 38 ND 0
2006: USC 44 ND 24
2005: USC 34 ND 31
2004: USC 41 ND 10
2003: USC 45 ND 14
2002: USC 44 ND 13

I went to USC, still support the football program and the school. People enrolled at Notre Dame, finished undergrad, and went to grad school without beating USC.

I remember watching USC vs ND at the LA Coliseum in 1990. I used to say the same thing about the USC class not being about to beat ND.

College Football Programs, like economies, rise and fall. USC is strong right now, on the football field. Academically, they are a joke.

I watched ND beat UCLA last year in Westwood. There was a USC fan in our section. He was leading the cheering for our ND section. I don't know why he wasn't across town watching his team lose to Stanford. He looked like one of those gang members that like around the LA Coliseum.

When did you go to USC? Your not one of those bandwagon fans that USC is famous for, are you?

After last season there was talk of demoting ND to Div II ;) I bet they are regretting that 10 year extension the gave Charlie.

Billyb....

1. "After last season there was talk of demoting ND to Div II"

Please tell me what legitimate source said this?

2. "I bet they are regretting that 10 year extension the gave Charlie."

Is that why NBC just extended their contract for another 5 years (for a total of 15)? The general public, through Nieslen Ratings, wants to see NOTRE DAME.

I don't see ND being much better this year with the young QB and weak OL.
ND does get the rating on TV as many fans like them. I watch everygame and attend the Mighigan every year but I am rooting against them.

I guess they don't teach how to recognize sarcasm at either harvard or ND. Exec, that is why i inserted the ;) wink, to make it obvious I was joking, but seems like you still missed it :))) (there, I tried to make it real obvious this time)

Hahahahaa....Your sarcasm was understood. I apologize if I offended you. I was merely trying to exchange some "witty" banter. Etiquette seems to go out the door with college football. I will try to conform to your communication standards. ;-)

I attended Harvard, but not ND. Harvard has a slightly better business program. My family are ND supporters I like the football program and what the academic institutions represents, although I am not religious.

Last time I saw ND play Michigan play live was in 2005. ND won 17-10. I remember people singing this song:

"Hail to the fornicators,
Hail to the masterbators,
Hail, Hail, Michigan....
the azzholes of the world"

Great fight song. ;-)

So are you one of those "band wagon" Michigan fans? Do you cheer for Bama, but go to the Michigan games at ND?
