What would be recommended for someone who has been working under the table for a long time and for the past three years have only reported less than 5 G's per year on the tax return.???
There is a cosigner/sponsor already supporting the cause but... how can the consul at the embassy tell that someone making 5 G's per year is going to affort a trip to colombia with hotel included.???
Do they take this in cosideration even tough there is a sponsor.
Any suggestions...??? Please help !!! Thanks.

They had a checklist that they went down and it looked pretty binary--It was or it wasn't there. I don't think they have a lot of lattitude on the income thing, and remember the burden of proof is on you, the petitioner, to prove that you meet or exceed whatever their requirements are.

If you can't show assets either, then you need a cosigner who understands and is willing to accept the responsibility involved (who would then need his/her own documentation).

BAQ says on Sep 27, 2005, 19:05: Bitten Well, looks like you bit yourself in the ass. If you tell the Embassy and show proof you made more than 5k, you are gunna have to explain to the IRS why you falsified your income tax returns. If you show only 5k a year, no visa, so either way you are screwed. Semper Fidelis ! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
