Nonpirated DVD´s and VHS tapes in Bogotá

Anyone know where nonpirated DVD´s and VHS tapes can be purchased in Bogotá? The pirated type a friend has loaned me don´t always work in my player, which came from the US. Besides that, I don´t like the idea of ripping off artists by buying the pirated versions of things I want to see.
Any help in finding these (especially in English) would be appreciated.
Thanks,
LaloG

Do Exito and Carrefour not have DVDs? I would check them first. Better yet, there's a place in Hacienda Santa Barbara, near where all the casas de cambio are (in front of a store called Model's), I don't recall the name, but they should have a good variety of DVD titles to choose from.

Colombian original DVS are rare... I've had mediocre luck finding Colombian-DVDs. Seems the "mass" market appeal just ain't there, and when I do find one, the price is astronomical ($80,000 col).

Exito and Carrefour do sell original DVD and VHS movies. Carrefour and Exito run sales from time to time on the movies but the selection is not very broad. I have bought them (when they are on sale) from 20 to 25 mil pesos per DVD movie and 6 to 10 mil pesos per VHS movies but they are a bit dated and some are used.

The quality of the copied DVDs is much better as they are doing DVD instead of just VCD copies. 12 mil pesos for DVD copies and 8 mil pesos for VCD copies in Medellin, available before the movies reach the theater.

I still sleep at night after watching my pirated movies or I go to sleep and the movie watches me. jajaja

I have had no trouble with the pirate dvds / cds and like viewpoint can sleep at night after watching a good quality copied movie.

If you insist on original movies you may find it quite hard as I suggest from what you are saying that your dvd player is pretty crap, I say this because if it won't read pirate movies then it probably isn't a multi zone/dvd/mp3/photo reader player. Anyway getting back on track, the original movies you find in Colombia will all be for the South America zone (what ever that is) and your dodgy dvd player may not be able to read it!...

All the best, the world's economy needs more dumb ass thinking people like you!...

DVD's You can get regular movies from just about any well established Mall that may have a Video/Music store. Prices, last time I looked, compare to what you would find in the US or so. I like the movies in Colombia because you can find the titles you want with the Spanish along with the English, whereas in the US there is more English and French movies than anything else. (I've seen very few spanish available movies in the US but they are there.)

God Bless America!
