Nobel Peace Prize

Why has nobody mentioned? A Colombian is up for the Nobel peace prize. I'm sure many here read bloomberg. Oh yeah because it's Piedad Cordoba.....

Colombia’s Cordoba Contending for Nobel Peace Prize
Oct. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Colombia Senator Piedad Cordoba and Afghanistan’s Sima Samar, two women promoting peace and human rights in conflict zones, are among the top contenders for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, the International Peace Research Institute in Oslo said.
....
Cordoba, a senator for the opposition Liberal Party, leads Colombians for Peace, an initiative for a negotiated solution to the conflict between the government and the FARC guerilla, which was founded in 1964 as a peasant-based, Marxist group. FARC, or the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, has taken a battering since 2002 when President Alvaro Uribe took office and its ranks of jungle fighters and urban rebels have been whittled in half as his military offensive, hunger and disillusionment encouraged as many as 11,200 members to desert.

Promoting war is the opposite of promoting peace, perhaps if Nobel had a war prize then Uribe would win

Maybe if Alfred had not invented dynamite he would not have needed the Nobel Peace Prize in the first place. His little invention has killed how many millions of people world wide since its inception?

...and so it goes

Rikito, that is exactly the reason why he willed his fortune be used for these prizes. That was the original idea behind the foundation: Alfred Nobel realized that his invention was going to be used in the war industry. He was a man of science and a great humanitarian.

I support Piedad Cordoba's nomination for the Peace Prize. (Not for President, though). I believe she has enough merits for that prize, on her own, over party lines, over national boundaries, over ideologies, for her work for women and minorities in Colombia, of course, but especially for her work to get home the kidnapoped people from the Colombian jungles. In the process, she has destroyed her own political career, her reputation and made herself extremely unpopular with a large portion of the most conservative Colombians. But I don't see anybody else doing that work, keep up the struggle except perhaps Moncayo and he is naturally fighting for the freedom of his own son.

Hey Desi, check out how your dear Piedad once again defends the ruthless narcoterrorist FARC in this video. It starts aroung the 1 minute mark:

And this is someone you support to get nominated for a Peace Prize? Who will you support next? El Mono Jojoy?

That Bayly would make a program to make her look back is rather a recommendation.

Desi, your heroine Piedad advised the FARC secretariat not to release your other heroine, Ingrid, because she was such a valuable chip to hold hostage. So which heroine do you idolize more? And don't you feel a little bit hypocritical supporting somebody that encourages terrorists to hold a hostage captive chained to a tree in the jungle by the neck, for a "Peace Prize"? Even as devalued that prize has become?

Makopp: Chavez dog did about as much as Obama did to recieve the prize.

Romy: Piedad? Boy, you really are struggling. My post was pointing out the obvious joke that is Obama winning the piece prize over just about anyone else. Why don't you take a read at people's posts and see what they are trying to say before you reply in such a defensive way. I hope you can understand what I've just written. Please let me know if I was not clear enough I can explain further.

Really I just saw this post you pathetic prick..and honestly it was not directed at you...you are such a sensitive boy.

I know your kind are super emotional, but I really was not directing that at you..I have pointed out a few times that Obama getting the peace prize is rediculous. I was pointing out the obvious humor in him getting a peace prize that took others years and years of lifesaving and peace keeping to acheive. Now who is the ignorant mutt you fool?

Honestly you are either really dumb or you are just that sensitive...Im not sure which I am going with yet.

I want you to know..your pissy little mood asside that I really was not posting that about you. The post about the Nobel Prize ...IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. Anyone who has any common sense at all, knows that my post was not directed at anyone on this forum. Again, you are such a knee jerk sucker for any sort of bait, you are obviously upset. Go call your mom.
