No Mas FARC Pictures California

Okay, so it's taking me a few extra days to get around to this.... But, the upside is that I have pictures of both Los Angeles and San Francisco... Mind you that the Los Angeles pictures aren't that great, since I'm short and it was at night.. The San Francisco pictures are much better....

Los Angeles - BTW, for the L.A. march they were only anticipating about 200 people or so... But, with the Colombian solidarity and unity there were over 1,500 present....

They actually did do a March in San Francisco, where in Los Angeles, we just went around in circles in the Plaza....

It was a good event, and let's continue to hope for the best and the demise of the FARC...

Great fotos msaucey!

I join you in your hopes for the demise of the FARC and I'll add that I'd like to see the end of all groups in Colombia that utilize violence against the civilian population.

Great pictures msaucey, thank you for sharing them. Let`s hope the FARC watched all that hate towards them and maybe they will realize they don`t have any friends left in the world!.

Thanks Sauc! Hey that's right out in front of City Hall SFO. Nice pics. Good to see someone was doing something other than watch the talks about super Tuesday.

ooops! ....Did I say that?

Great pics. I was going to agree with LZ about the FARC realizing they have no more friends in the world. But, like all freaks, scumbags, terrorists, molesters, etc - there is always a certain element that will support them. Despite common sense and rational thought and normal reasoning.

Great photos ms!

I really love the idea of this march, I think because us Canadians are so complacent most of the time. Nice to see people who still believe they can change things.

A Canadian friend of mine here (who has no connection to Colombia) was commenting on the marches, as he knows I am interested in Colombia. I thought it was interesting that his view was that it was a watershed point in time for Colombia. (Meaning, it's the start of better times)

I agree, but was more surprised that he knew all about it. He's a techy guy so I think he heard all about the facebook angle.

Then he got into how with satellites these days governments can see anything they want, so he figures if they want to, with enough money, FARC could be finished.

Easier said than done, I know, but he has a point. He figures that the real reason FARC is still around is that a lot of people are making a lot of money, so until that stops....

(sounds like I had dinner with sr t jaja!)

Pod I agree
no FRAC --military will be cut back....what will all those high paying officers going to do for work...in Colombia its about protecting your job
no FRAC-- many wise guys not making their profit on drugs...kidnapping...arm sales....what are they oing to do for work

The FRAC is like a second industry
I am not saying its good
but a lot of pople live off the backs of the FRAC directly or indirectly

listo

it's an interesting, maybe cynical, point of view, that things are very hard to change as long as somebody is making money. I hate to say it makes sense.

Doesn't just apply to colombia, either.

MSaucey!! Great pictures, thank you for sharing. I wish we could have marched in NY, we had to stay in front of the United Nations, but it was still nice.
