Hi all,

Anybody know where I can find 0.5/1 and 1/2 action in Medellin?

Thanks.

I have been to a lot of the casinos but it is mainly limit hold em. Thats too boring, needs to be no-limit.

I've heard of no-limit games being played in Cartagena, but I don't think you'll find that in Medallo.

just during the tournaments.

They said I couldn't play football I was too small / They say I couldn't play basketball I wasn't tall / They say I couldn't play baseball at all / And now everyday of my life I ball.

There are a few places to play holdem in Medellin. I liked the tournements at the Havana Casino in front of the Oviedo Mall. Come out of the casino and go down the street 1 block and turn left. Halfway down you will come to the Gran Casino. They have holdem there to but it's sporadic. Also, come out of the Havana casino and walk across the block and go left about two blocks. Nice new casino there with holdem. I can't remember the name. Also, there is a casino in Pablodo that has holdem on the 2nd flr. I can't remember the name of the casino but it is the biggest in Medellin. Try the 2nd floor. Lots of freebee food and great tables. They also have tournaments on the 1st floor. If you get hungry try and search out the manager and ask him if there is a restaurant close by because you're hungry. He will make sure you stay in the casino and give you something to eat. I liked their shimp coctails.

Here are two tips when playing Colombians in tournements. 1st, the rebuys are pretty low so you can take your chances and go all in and hope to get out in front right away. If you lose you just buy more chips. You usually have 3 rebuys. 2nd. relax and let the Colombians go crazy. They get pretty excited with a 10 and J or Q and 10. They jump up as say "oyl eeeen," and jump up from their chair. It's pretty funny really. I usually just sit back and let them jump all over each other for the 1st hour. Lots of carnage the 1st hour. Don't be surprised to see them go all in with just a pair of 2's.
I made it to final table 80% of the time and won quite a few jackpots. Good luck.

Thx Gringo, nice advices.

I played in Medellin 2 years ago, but was only able to find limit tables. As you say, Colombians are extremely loose, really with no plan on how to follow up their loose preflop play. I am in Medellin right now, and desperate to find some good no limit action :-)!

I will try to find that casino in the poblado.

Oh yes the large casino is in Los Vegas. Great tournaments there and they treat you very well. I went out here in Manila last night and lost. Not much and I got my adrenalin fix lol.
