New Years Activities in Cartagena?

Hi, I'm going to be in Cartagena over the New Year. Does anyone have info regarding the parties that are going on? Where are the best ones? How do I get advance tickets?

Also, if there are any links to websites that have a list of events over the New Year season is appreciated.

Gracias y feliz anyo nuevo.

New Year's Eve I was in Cartagena for New Year's Eve last year and found that it was totally different than Canada. It seems that in Colombia, New Year's Eve is a very important night for families to get together and celebrate, rather than go out to a party.

I ended up spending New Year's Eve at my friend's place in one of the neighbourhoods near La Castellana, with her extended family, and neighbours.

They also like to buy & wear new clothes for New Year's Eve... and they dress up a "dummy" with old clothes and burn it in the street.. Loud music coming from most of the houses... firecrackers... it was a great night! I wish I had stayed in Bogota for it this year, instead of coming home a couple of days ago.

I dont know about New Years but tonight at 8 00 pm there is a Naty Botero concert at a club called Gavanna. I have nothing else to do in Cartagena worthwile so Il be heading there tonight.

Its 30,000 pesos I was told for the ticket. Its 3 different groups but I want to go because I like Naty´s music.
Sincerely,
