About six months ago I retired from my job with the U.S. government and moved to Armenia. I feel very blessed to be living in such a beautiful city with great people. I have been fortunate in living in many foreign countries through my work and I feel that Armenia, Colombia is one of the best places a person could live. If you have never visited Armenia I highly recommend that you do. Armenia is in the department of Quindio and is considered the coffee capital of Colombia. There is a web site for tourism you can visit and get information on places like the Parque del Café, Panaca, and the Botanic Gardens
This week it was announced that a new Them Park is coming to Tebaida which is just south of Armenia by minutes. This will be the largest Theme Park in South America. The web site at: http://cronicadelquindio.com/index.php?module=Pagesetter&func=viewpub&... will give you more details. It will bring in tourists not only from South America, but from other countries as well.
Why am I saying this? If you want to destroy the farc, if want to shut Chavez’s mouth, if you want to show the world that Colombia is a great place to be then show the world how great your economy is. Colombia’s economy is improving everyday and this new Theme Park will help it more by bringing in more housing, jobs, hotels, restaurants, etc. Everyone will benefit. Everyone in here, including me, has their opinion of farc and Chubby…most of it is bad. We all think that we know how to get rid of the farc which is the puss of Colombia, but the best way is to keep doing what Uribe is doing and keep doing the things that make the economy better.

The atmosphere there was incredible! HERE'S SIMON!!!! 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

Rikito says on Feb 3, 2008, 05:59: Lcacique, you make a valid point, but this project will be too big for the have nots not to get a good piece of the action. Also, the Theme Park is not being built by Colombian builders. The Colombians will not doubt have some sub-contractors, but the Project will be run by the Navajo Nation Corporation. The Navajo Nation is an American Indian Tribal authority that gets some assistance from the U.S. They have a tremendous history of success behind them. A company I worked for had to use them (by law) on a project and the results were far better than expected. The Navajo's have a very strict ethical code they operate and abide by. They have been very successful and always make sure that part of the development of any project includes the 'little guy.' They are particularly interest in the disadvantaged. Lcacique says on Feb 3, 2008, 13:09: Rikito: I appreciate your enthusiasm for a place that I love as well. I meant no offense by what I said and apperciate your response. It shocked me to read that the Navajo outfit will be in charge of the project. That is very interesting. I happen to be a cynic when it comes to these types of things at times; however, I love when I am wrong and things work out for all of those involved.
