New post layout

I changed the layout of the posts on all pages except for the homepage (where it still shows the post + its content). Let me know what you think. I hope it helps to scan the posts more easily and have to scroll less. Babysteps people, babysteps! :)

peter, first of all, you've got an amazing helpful website. I think the dept of tourism colombia should be subsidizing this site. i have a suggestion for the "COMMENTS" page. When i make a "comment", i want to go back in a day or two to follow up the conversation log, however i have to search for the original post. Its difficult expecially if we are commenting on many subjects. I suggest to put a LINK to the original post, on each of our comments on the users ALL comments page. Users will be able to easily refind the conversations to keep the blog going.

Peter I am getting used to the format but may I make a suggestion? When we look at someone's profile we can now see his comments. That is great but we can't view what threads the comments were made in. It would be nice to be able to click on the comment and take us to the thread otherwise just seeing comments you don't know what they are discussing or the context.

It's a big improvement and should make browsing and reading a lot faster. I like your idea of keeping the "home" page the same for a while. If people want to preview posts and have a little more info before opening them up, they can do that.

Still on my wish list:

1. Drop the seconds off the time and date stamp

2. Add a time and date stamp to comments. Right now it's only on original threads/posts

3. Add the sort feature that puts most recent activity at the top on all the forum pages - friendly, spanish, travel, etc - rather than just the "most recent" page

Whoa....much improved Peter! I echo Tintos 4 points. You get those taken care of and you'll have more happy PBHers (and hopefully fewer complaints). Nice job!

how about putting a counter on the threads so we can see how many times a post has been read and know it's popularity...

Peter even I like the new format which is wierd because I resist change:) Anyway can you explain what the friends button does. I can't figure that out.

Peter (Moderator) says on Jun 29, 2007, 16:09:

The friends button ads a person as your friend. That make sense? Then they are listed under your "friends" tab.
