Hell no! But you can adopt it.

Colombia NEEDS some diversity when it comes to food.
arepas, empanadas.... their good... for a lil more heartburn and other health problems.
Colombia may not be leading in aids and prostitution, as monpirri claims, but.... they do have more than their share of diabetes and other nutritionally related problems, to say they have all that fresh fruit..... someone's not eating enough papaya, maracuya, pitaya, etc.!

nothin I say is to be takn for my words, but rather for the words of Sailor Jerry.

Way to go fellas! I'm so happy that you guys are making a goat it in la Samaria, hopefully I will be back around this year to teach you guys how to dance! Mike, just remember although you are an awesome chef you have to actually THINK like a fat mexican woman in order for it to be mexican food! And don't hold the manteca! Good luck dudes!

I just wanted to put a plug in for the Beachbros and their restaurant ... this is an absolute must visit if you are in Santa Marta.

My novia and I had dinner there in early May and had a fantastic time. The brothers and their chef/partner were very friendly, humble, and seem to be running a first class operation. One of the brothers speaks perfect Spanish (not sure about the others) - my novia was as impressed by this as the food.

We had:

2 Margaritas and a Tequila Sunrise, and shared the langostinos, quesedillas (con champinones), tacos (de cerdo) and ice cream. Total cost $54.000 - very reasonable.

I'm no food critic, but would agree with Gramm2 that the choice of dishes and the presentation is upscale while the atmosphere is casual and the pricing offers great value.

On a personal note, as someone still struggling with Spanish, I was a lot of fun for me to finally "be the man" for a change ... hahahaha. For once I knew and understood everything on the menu and had to explain it to my novia, I got to order for us, and chatted with the guys in English. Don't get me wrong, I love the learning process and eating Colombian food, but it was nice not to feel like a total idiot for once ... :-)

Good luck guys ... I can't wait until I can come back ... and this time I'll be there for the start of Happy Hour ... wooo hooo ...!
